TBH relative to the other companies, I'm surprised that Amazon's profits weren't higher.

Not much (if any) crazier than typical religious claims, IMO.

We called it that too when I was younger (in WI). Go find a nice big parking lot to whip shitties in during or right after a snowstorm or ice-over. Fun times (when there's nothing better to do...like growing up in Green Bay).

Mad as a box of frogs. It's amazing they not only think this stuff but feel OK about saying it out loud.
What's sadder is the people who keep consuming her content. I honestly don't know if she is that nuts, but she has at least figured out that people will consume that shit and she can make a buck off it. I really think at least 90% of the bat shit stuff right wing "influencers" spout they know is bull shit but do it for the dollars. It's just grifting all the way down.

They get reassurance from their social media bubble or from people they know in real life who get assurance that their thoughts are valid from social media bubbles.

Chem trails…they’re not just for mind control.

100% and one of the big hurdles of society and information going forward. This monetization of content for the individual creator - with no regard to the validity and factuality of the actual material - is gonna do us in. Either we get a handle on it or truth and facts die. Forever.

edit: Someone like Russel Brand for example, starts out hard leftist, but as his youtube subs started counting in the millions, he transitioned to alt fact hard right. Cause. Follow the money right? Tons of these cases around.

It's very tempting to go full Moonbeam, and wonder what the psychological mechanism is behind this stuff (that, as in this example, just comes out sounding completely insane - the other side are controlling the weather???). I can't tell if it's cold cynical grifting or if there's genuine extreme anxiety behind it. Maybe there's a feeling of 'release' in verbalising these irrational fears, among those who share your overwhelming sense of anxiety about loss of control?

I don't find it impossible to empathise with such paranoid thoughts, just that mine tend to have the reverse polarity (or are about purely personal non-political interactions), and I tend not to let them out in public.
