...but it's OK to eat those commie bastards on the Odakyu line?? Or maybe breathe a little fire and make Ika~Yaki with legs? Then you could put it on a stick and sell it by the train station...

Hey, the Odakyu line is my main commuting line! And I ain't no commie! You must be talking about the tourists that use the Romancecar to Hakone.

I sometimes drive but I also ride the Hibya and Yamanote lines to and from Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ebisu, Omotesandō and Harajuku.

Stay. Away. From. Them. Gojira.

:) I lived in Japan for 7 years - Ended up in a little suburb called Sagamihara. My ex GF lived in Machida, a major station for the Odakyu line. That was some time ago, though.

When were you there?

I had a house in Noborito right on the Tama River and I know Machida and Sagamihara very well. I spent a couple months consulting at Nissan and Marantz in Sagamihara!

I'm ex-Army and did a number of weekends golfing with friends at Camp Zama. Afterward we would get together at a tiny bar by Sōbudai-mae for drinks.

At first glance the area is kind of industrial, like most of metropolitan Tokyo, but I found living right on the river was really relaxing, reasonably priced and it was a relatively easy commute to my offices in Shibuya. Another plus was that I could easily head down to Yokohama as required for work and fun or go further west to get away from the city on weekends.

Funny... This is exactly how I would expect this thread to turn out.

It's much easier to spew hateful rhetoric when nobody knows anybody, so the lack of pictures isn't surprising.

Hell, if I posted pictures of me it'd ruin the mystery. People would finally know that I actually AM the devil.

I came back to the US in '95. And yes, I know where Camp Zama is, and remember the Nissan plant. The road that goes past the front gate has Japanese Cherry trees in one section, and one year we did the 'blossom festival (picnic, really) there.

That's right! The base is opened up for the hanami (cherry blossom) festival. It is a big event for the area, 20,000 people or so go. A really good time for the kids and the locals. I miss those kinds of relaxing events and the hanabi taikai, nothing in the US compares.

I was there for a few years from early 2000 till sometime in 2003 or maybe 2004. I went back a few years later for about 6-8 months and still go about once a year, depending on work.

I think your overdoing it with the googable details.
Too much makes your stories unbelievable
I believe Scott and you come off as BS
You must have thousands of pics, post a couple and that would help a lot
