Ozone hole to start shrinking; close by 2050

?? The hole in the ozone layer doesen't have anything to do with Global Warming and greenhouse gasses, as far as I know.
That's definately a good thing, unfortunately we have much more important things to worry about, like the collapse of the food chain, and other miniscule things like that.
Well, those liberal doom and gloom beliefs got people to stop using CFCs, which is what is responsible for these good news. Now when you see global temperatures falling, then you can say something about the global warming. Personally I don't have a problem with Global warming. I am in CA, and just waiting for the rest of the country to warm up so I can move away from CA taxes 😀
The only reason the hole is shrinking is because ur doom and gloom greens (dunno what being liberal has to do with the environment - nothing) took immediate action and banned all Fluorine-Chlorine-Hydrocarbons that were used before in spraycans, A/Cs, foam production, fridges..... Yet the skincancer rate is continuing to rise until later in the century (predicted).
So be happy that the gloom and doom greens worked for YOU and YOUR kids to have a safer life and stop b1tching about the ppl that worked for YOU
Don't let the fact that you have no idea what your talking about discourage you. If you allow your feelings to get hurt you will only get defensive and stay stupid. It's best to become humble, realize that like everybody else, you know very little, and smile. That will help you not to get too excited about putting somebody down, like environmentalists, who may be stupid but no more stupid as you. Humility will allow you to open your mind to the realization that you can and need to learn, be open, and absorb knowledge as best you can. Good luck.

My problem with the whole "ozone hole" and it's causes:
No one ever took a reading or picture of it whole. No one has any knowledge of what the ozone layer looks like that goes back more than a few decades. No one knows what kind of cycles the layer may go through. Like climate change, I doubt our activities have as much an effect as the greenies would like us to believe.
And I doubt worldwide CFC usage is down by much, Tool. IIRC only the US and Europe has any limits on the stuff.

I think the Ozone- CFC issue has been confirmed in laboratory tests, but that issue was so long ago that I don't remember too much about it anymore. I do, however, remember various industries bitching and whining about it, similar to todays anti-action on Global Warming types.

That silicone breast implants are banned is new to me, but even if it is, there is no implication for my life nor anyone elses. A hole in the OZone layer is a serious threat to every living creature on the planet - who knows what would have happened if the connection between Ozone destruction and man caused pollutants would never have been discovered - without the Ozone layer there is no life.
So go on and be happy.
Dunno about the CFC usage in the world but Germany: something close to 0. Besides it doesnt matter 90something % of those really bad pollutants only come from the western (modern industrialized) countries anyway

I would love for this report (based on computer models and PROJECTED human activity) to be correct. As much as Americans love A/C what happens when more Indians can afford it? Now if only we would do something to get rid of ground level ozone.
