OWS Protestors throw condoms at schoolgirls

PROVIDENCE, RI, January 30, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – Demonstrators from the Occupy Wall Street movement threw condoms on Catholic schoolgirls, refused to allow a Catholic priest to give a closing prayer, and shouted down a pro-life speaker at a Rhode Island right to life rally on Thursday, according to its organizer. The event marked the third time protesters associated with the movement have disrupted a pro-life meeting in a week.

The pro-life organization’s executive director, Barth E. Bracy, told LifeSiteNews.com that, near the end of the rally, the Occupiers “strategically fanned out with military precision.”
That’s when they “started showering condoms down on some of the girls from a Catholic high school.”
They gathered around speakers at the podium, shouting them down or otherwise jostling them and members of the audience.

Bracy said he was disappointed when he tried to ask a man from the national Occupy Wall Street movement, who identified himself as “Dallas,” what opposing the right to life had to do with economics. http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/why-does-occupy-wall-st.-support-big-abortion “You can’t have a reasoned conversation with these people,” he said, “They simply try to taunt you. They’re smug, snarky, arrogant. You won’t get a straight answer.”

Members of the Occupy movement, which putatively focuses on economic and financial issues, have begun aggressively demonstrating against those who advocate for the rights of the unborn.
Approximately 15 protesters from Occupy D.C. disrupted the March for Life Youth Rally in the nation’s capital last Saturday evening.
Last Monday, they disrupted a prayer service for the unborn in front of the Supreme Court.

Disgusting little creatures the OWS protestors have become.

It's disgusting but I'm still headed for Rhode Island now that I don't need protection. :sneaky:

If all the fringe of the pro-choice group does is throw a few condoms and interrupt a protest, I don't think there is much harm in that. At least they aren't resorting to more militant, violent and deadly tactics of the fringe of the pro-lifers.

Less disgusting than somebody bombing an abortion clinic.
1) What/when/where was the last clinic bombed in the U.S.?

2) What national "movement" was directly associated with said bombing? Previous bombings?

3) Do you personally condone what these OWS protesters did with the condoms?

Seriously, they should take the lead from the pro-lifers and start planting bombs and blowing them up instead.

So tens of thousands if not millions of protesters worldwide are forgiven if one single crazy member of the opposition does something worse. Got it.

OWS started with angry stupid, and within the next 2 years it will probably end with frustrated stupider.

http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarne...rs-dump-condoms-on-catholic-school-girls.html (at the bottom):

Joseph Little, the chief of the capitol police, told Fox News & Commentary that he did not receive any reports of condoms being dropped on children. He also said to his knowledge, nothing happened to that rose to the level of needing to call in additional support.

So, we have the word of right-to-lifers, but not a single word from anyone representing Occupiers. Yet the right-wing trolls here are sure of their facts. Interesting.

Not that any of this is relevant, of course. 15 (or whatever) bad actors do not discredit an entire movement.

What's to forgive? They gave away free merchandise and didn't do anything illegal. I'd say interrupting thousands of rallies and giving away millions of condoms is less bad than killing one person.

An e-mail sent to Occupy Providence Media has not been returned. But we spoke to Barth Bracy, executive director of Rhode Island Right to Life, who was there.

Bracy had an inkling something was up in the nights before the demonstration when the Facebook page for the Rhode Island Right to Life was continually being defaced. But as the pro-lifers were giving their speeches in the statehouse, the Occupiers began filing in, and Bracy noticed that they were very well organized in their tactics

"[The Occupiers] started spreading themselves out - they didn't do anything until all of them got through the security chekcpoint. They brought their cardboard signs. They don't push you. They just stand so close they make you feel uncomfortabe because they smell so bad."

A couple of women from Occupy started dancing in front of the podium the pro-lifers were using. The Occupiers started whistling, heckling, and chanting.

Bracy was scheduled to give the last address to the crowd. "I got about twenty-five percent through my speech before I couldn't even hear myself." Bracy decided that at this point it was futile to continue. So he invited Fr. Bernard Healy to give a closing prayer.

Healy was interrupted and shouted down. "And that's when the condoms started coming down," Bracy said, before rushing to tell us that they were "unused."

"It really was mayhem, is what it was," Bracy said.

Bracy had formerly considered himself sympathetic to the Occupy movement. "I remember the Savings and Loans scandals. People went to jail. I thought Ocuppy Wall Street was about that. Having investigations. But this is the first time they are speaking clearly about an issue and they're standing up for abortion and using blackshirt tactics," Bracy said, referring to Moussilini's early and racous fascist movement.

So you're saying all of those direct quotes are blatant lies? Have any proof beyond the man's political affiliation?

About 60% of the entire movement has discredited itself by writing would-be-sob-stories of stupid on pieces of paper and putting it next to a serious face. This, if true (and IMO it looks like it is) is merely another example. Occupy is simply a liberal-oriented Tea Party without any political organization. All of the anger, none of the focus, less capability, and even less staying power.

All of those direct quotes? It's one person who is the Executive Director of the Rhode Island right to life group. How is that not exactly what shira said?

Oh, and prayer service for the "unborn"? AHAHAHAHA.

Prayer service for 100k dead BORN iraqis? 0.

Those prayer services are assuredly being held by those that overwhelmingly killed them, that is, their fellow countrymen and/or fellow Muslims.

Happy now?

A quick look at wikipedia says this:

1) January 1, 2012 Bobby Joe Rogers, 41, firebombed the American Family Planning Clinic in Pensacola, Florida with a Molotov cocktail.

If you mean the last one that killed someone, it looks like that would be this one:
January 29, 1998: Robert Sanderson, an off-duty police officer who worked as a security guard at an abortion clinic in Birmingham, Alabama, was killed when his workplace was bombed.

There have also been several fatal shootings more recent than the last deadly bombing.

2) Generally no national movements are directly associated with acts like these, though I think the Army of God may have directly associated themselves with it back in the day... That being said, when these abortion doctors are demonized by these national groups even though those groups condemn violence, it leads makes the doctors that perform abortions the targets of the lunatic fringe.

Also, AFAIK the OWS movement hasn't come out and said to start disrupting these rallies (assuming that's even true), this seems like some of the same people decided to do that on their own.

3) I personally think what these protesters are doing is a pointless waste of time. These kinds of rallies are echo chambers for people that are anti-abortion and aren't going to convert someone who's pro-choice anyway, so disrupting them just pisses of the anti-abortion crowd. That being said, it doesn't sound like they're doing anything illegal, so as far as I'm concerned they're only wasting their own and the pro-lifers' (who IMO are already wasting their own time) time anyway...

Sounds like some people being idiots, although I'd like to see a less obviously biased source to say for sure. I'm not sure it has larger implications for the OWS movement as a whole, which seems to be what some are suggesting, unless it becomes more widespread or becomes part of the "official" platform.

Isn't this a story about 15 assholes from OWS being assholes not "10's of thousands if not millions"?

Individuals are completely representative of a group if they're doing something bad and you don't like the group, or if they're doing something good and you DO like the group. Otherwise they're just individuals...that's how that works 😉

OK, I'm not big on Catholicism but the constitution protects peoples right to practice their religion. Now the protesters are proving they dont know what America is all about and just wanna vent their hate and bigotry.
Fuck them.

Disgusting little creatures the OWS protestors have become.

ProJo, do you actively go looking for this inflammatory shit, or are you on the email list? How does that work exactly?

Oh, and I'm McLovin all the right wingers here equating a couple of people supposedly throwing condoms to the entire OWS movement, but when a clinic bomber is brought up it's all "he doesn't represent the movement"...

Typical.

Not quite. I was just challenging the repetitive argument that "pro-life protestors can do no harm because one crazy bombed an abortion clinic". I've seen it enough times to puke and I'm sick of it. 😛

They did it wrong. Your supposed to throw the girl onto the condom, not throw it at her!

\were condoms thrown ribbed? For their pleasure?
