Own K.I.T.T from Knight Rider

Holy crap that is a good job replicating KITT. The only bad thing is you'd have to shut off the scanner on the front as the police in a lot of states classify it as a police light thus you'd be 'posing as a policeman'.

...what I am trying to say is that is has a real set of balls.
The other day, a Mustang 5.0 stepped up for some action on the highway - I dusted him.

Hrhr.

Cool looking car though i think, would be weird using that steering wheel.

Lol, that's awesome 🙂 You couldn't pay me to be seen in it, but having grown up in the 80s & watching the show I can't help but grin. Guy did a good job.

Duh, you have Turbo Boost.

😀

That's really cool. I'd love to have a show car like that...you can make $$$$ with car show appearences.

He did a pretty good job with that. It would have removed the TA badges though for a more clean look. He's full of it though saying that other dealers cost $35000. There's a few companies in CA that you can buy your own 83-86 TA and ship it to them, and they'll do all the mods for $4000-$16000 depending on what style you want (there were different versions of the car), and if you want the TV's to be functional or not. The ebay guy did add a decent engine to the car though, so that's a bonus.

If I had the garage space, I'd bid 🙂

Many times if will scratch when switching to 2nd even when you are not getting on it.

Using the word scratch when describing spinning the tires, just doesn't make the ad sound very good.
And the line about dusting a 5.0 mustang.
This is quite unrealistic with his setup,
Unless this Kitt car has a turbo boost.
He definitely sounds like a car salesman.
On a positive note, it sure looks like he put alot of time into this project.

RICE, I say rice not because it is a KITTreplica, I say rice because he has GTA badges on a non GTA car. GTA's weren't made until 87 model year. This car is an 84, which is still not the right year for a true KITT car. For a real KITT car it needs to be a 82.

I'm with Lebowski on this one. If you're going to go through all of the work to make a replica of something at least start out with the right car and take that stupid GTA badge off of the car.

So you're saying a brand-new crate 350 SBC couldn't beat a 5.0 Mustang?

Brand-new crate 350 SBC (ZZ4)

According to that, it's 355HP and 405 ft/lb.

We don't know what year 5.0 he's talking about, but aren't most 5.0L Mustangs 250HP and under?

It's definitely cool with the mp3 player "swoosh" stuff going on and the LEDs, but the interior is hideous. I would save my money for something that I'd be able to resell. This car isn't worth more than $5,000.

Terry,

There's several different types of sbc 350 crate motors. They go from stock replacement to aluminum headed versions.
I've got a strong suspicion that this guy had a basic 350 replacement installed. But who really knows. All he says about the motor in his ad is this:
"Including a new out of the crate 350 V-8 and all accessories" If he did install the cheapest 350 crate, then I do feel that a 5.0 would dust his kitt car.
If he installed the motor in your link, then, by all means, it would beat a bone stock 5.0.

Incidently, the 87-93 5.0's were the fastest out of the 5.0 mustang family.
There rated at 225 hp. But hp isn't everything. The weight of the vehicle plays a huge part when it comes to acceleration.
The 87-93 mustangs are known to be on the light side.
From what I remember, for every 100 pounds you lose in weight, you gain about 1/10 in the 1/4 mile, which equates to about 10 horsepower. If i'm off on this, just give a shout here.

Anyway, I wonder if anyone is really going to buy this thing.
