Sheesh - this is getting insane. I just got back from some afternoon hockey where I dislocated my shoulder again (fourth time this year). I'm a goalie and basically did a diving save with my arm out - but my body weight then came down hard on the joint and pop...
So I'm laying there on the ice, everyone crowded around me and all I'm thinking is "I'm NOT going to the ER AGAIN for this" (I spent a couple hours in the ER with a dislocated shoulder - same shoulder hurt the same way - a couple months ago). So I sat up grabbed my dislocated arm with my other one, and pulled it in a downward motion (same as the ER people did) and felt it finally pop back into the socket.
It hurt like hell, believe me.
So I am going to call a Sports Medicine place in the morning and schedule some physio-therapy... but has anyone had experience with dislocated shoulders before? What did you do about it? how did you strengthen it to stop it happening again?
