My folks have paid for my accomodation & food at uni, but all my uni fees are in my own name and have to be repayed as soon as my income hits over a certain level...

Well, I plan to save for my kid's college education. My parents did the same for me and at least I can say I started post-college life in the black whereas most people I know were in debt up to their eyeballs. It's hard to start building when you got to dig yourself out of a hole first.

Same here.

It's based on your income? Here in the US you usually have to start paying 6 months after graduation.

Paris Hilton?

Heck she'll be a billionare when daddy passes on. Why work for it? If you can be a rich little slut for no effort why struggle?

Quit looking in other peoples baskets and pay more attention to your own.
In the old days the saying was that there is always a faster gun, Now it is there is always someone with more money than you. It doesn't matter what other people have.

LOL @ OP.

My parents have never considered paying for university/college for any of their 5 children.

I have had to work for everything little thing in life, & heh, i'm sure that's not gonna change for the rest of my life.

OP,

I'm 20 and I just bought my own house with the money I scraped together after I slaved through college full time while working full time (and still managed to graduate a year early). I am the definition of the entrepreneurial spirit. My picture is next to the word entrepreneur in the dictionary. My sh!t doesen't stink. You are pathetic and only wish you had the dedication of my leftmost little toe. How about instead of ranting like a pathetic whiny little bitch, you just get on your knees and blow me like the serf you'll always be with that kind of attitude.

Thanks, I was confused by this thread until I got to your post.

OP's an idiot.

Trust me, I acknowledge the fact that my parents are helping pay for college, but guess what? That doesn't mean that I'm spoiled. I'm now in the market to buy a $5-600k house with someone special, I have my own car, and my whole computer and room setup I worked for with my own effort taking days off of my finite life. You're a whiner and I can't wait until you apply for the position to be a boss and they throw you down because your attitude is worse than that of the people who makes the "F"s in my classes and gets kicked out. You are pathetic.

You would be if you acted like the OP. Not all are spoiled, acting like a spoiled brat, now that's another thing.

Chances are the overpriviledged brats will get fasttracked through the estabished family business, eventually taking over and demolishing your start up. Maybe you can trade in your bitterness for some food stamps.

And a 45K salary isn't that impressive. So the person in yoru example isnt floating in cash

true true true...

you can only hope that they drive their own business into the ground since they really didnt learn anything majoring in frat boy at their parents alma mater.
