I am in the army reserve and i am going to commence charity work one day a week.... what more would you have me do?! ( i refuse to give money, as everyone knows that donated money never reaches those who need it)

I give blood when i can.... but its hard as i am constantly on the road for work.... now that i quit though, thanks for reminding me, i will start giving blood to feed the vampires when i get back from boot camp.

Aside from the half hour a day I spend here, my life is only mildly interesting.
I dont have the money to do fun stuff. When I joined I was much more busy with life and work and fun. I could go to Vegas anytime I liked. I had fun there. Or LA (but I never wanted that). I could go off-roading or desert racing or many other enjoyable, quasi-legal activities.
I went out to the local gun range twice a week. I hung out a local tavern and watched my friends drink. That was the first time in my life I was able to have fun at a bar and be sober. I used to drink like a mad man and that got tiresome by the time I was 21. After that I avoided bars entirely.
I started excercising for fun and not because I felt I had to.
Actually spent relatively little time playing video games. Had some sexual intercourse once in a while.

And I only spent 15 minutes a day here and only posted once every other day.


NOW:
No money and most of my hobbies arent happening.
Can't get chicks. You can bullshit all you want but modern women still expect a man to pay for stuff. If he never, EVER comes up with any money, I promise she will not let the relationship progress beyond a couple dates. This is the sad, cold, dark truth.
I have guns but between range memberships and ammo costs, I really cant afford to shoot them.
Cant afford to go out and party. Seems like people in my town dont socialize normally (the way I learned how to socialize). If you aren't spending money on beer and pizza and cigarettes then they don't wanna hang out.
Cant afford to upgrade my gaming system, but that doesnt matter because I think most games suck these days anyway.
School put me massively into debt because I am still paying out of state tuition. The GI Bill checks that I will eventually get are only going to barely cover my costs this semester. I will not pocket any money (unlike last semester).

So if it seems like I have no real life, well, sorry. I dont.
Am trying my best to keep passing grades so I dont lose my GI Bill. No females are interested in me right now and I already know better than to constantly chase them.
Cant do anything fun and dont have much free time anyway.

And theres no real requirement I "contribute" in OT. Thats why its Off Topic. We dont have to be constructive here.
However, I am trying harder to not be a dick on a daily basis.

Thanks so much but now my 30 minutes is up and I have to get back to my shallow life.

Working generates much more money than just YOUR paycheck. Some folks here need some economics courses. Even a fast-food job does a lot for the economy.
Why do you think the government is concerned with 10% unemployment? 10% really isnt a lot, but the ripple effect it has is powerful.

This goes beyond any perceived "bias" that I would "hope" it was obvious, we should be helping our fellow man and not "casting stones" as the case may be.

I don't really care about my fellow man. My "fellow man", as you put, is full of horrible things that make him worth loathing. See Africa, the Middle East, hell just look at what European settlers did to the natives of America when they came in and took over.

So in the end I guess I just have this question to pose to you all, what have you done to make our world better, even if for only one person?

Nothing, and I'm not going to, unless I ever have children some day. Till then, I'll just keep caring for animals instead, taking in strays and giving them better, longer lives and getting unconditional love in return. That's far and away better than anything my "fellow man" could give me.


Oh, I will admit I donated to hurricane victims during the past two major ones - I myself was on the receiving end of donations after Hurricane Andrew kicked Florida's ass.

I am a Catholic conservative, most likely representative of our majority though I make no proclamation of such. I don't give a shit what yours or anyone else's political leanings are, nor your religion. You get run over by a train, you're welcome to the blood that I donated, regardless of your race, religion, political leanings, or IQ (which I'm gathering isn't too high.)

So in the end I guess I just have this question to pose to you all, what have you done to make our world better, even if for only one person? You're getting awfully redundant with these questions. How about serving breakfast to retired senior citizens on Valentine's Day ("Sweetheart's Breakfast")? How about volunteering to coach youth soccer? Chaperoning dances at my high school (I can think of much better things to do with a Saturday night)? How about all the trash I pick up that's along the path I take when I walk to work?

Let the "beatings" commence... If only there were a way through the internet.
