Overclocking my overstock mobo?

I like my title:). Anyways, I stupidly bought a 1 Ghz CPU with a FSB of 266, but the mobo on the barebones at overstock has a FSB of 200. Here is the link to the barebones at overstock for reference. Overstock Barebones. I was thinking of using softFSB to overclock my mobo to 266, anyone try this? What are the risks of doing this? Will I need a bigger power supply or more cooling? I am putting in one ANTEC 80 mm case fan. Here are the other things in there if it helps:
30 gig Western Digital 7200 RPM
Plextor 8/4/32
their Floppy
An AGP video card
A 10/100 WOL NIC
256 MB RAM
1 Ghz Athlon Thunderbird

Thanks

check out what motherboard it is and what chipset it is. if it is like a kt133a or a mb that supports a fsb of 133 then you should be fine. however since the overstock website only stated 100 then most likely not. you might have to overclock your cpu's multiplier if you want 1 gig on it.

Overstock says it has a Via KT133 chipset and a 200MHz Front Side BUS. Wouldn't I'd be able to use softUSB to "overclock" the mobo to 266 MHz?

If your mb doesn't support multiplier changing, either by jumper or in bios, you can get a "golden socket" from plycon, which will let you change your multiplier settings even on motherboards that don't natively support this option. First, you will have to unlock the cpu by connecting the L1 bridges.

I think the best thing to do is trade your tbird in the sale/trade forum for one that has 200 fsb. A lot of people would be happy to do it. By the way what are the markings on the cpu? I may be interested as well!!

What do you mean by markings? It's a retail box CPU, so I don't know. Trying to see if I can exchange it somewhere or maybe trade like you said with someone on the for sale/trade board.
