Overclocking K6 III 400 Help !!!

Senior member
I'm trying to overclock my K6 III 400 to 450 on my Tyan S1598c2 motherboard by increasing the multiplier to 4.5 and the voltage at 2.4
When I boot up the system just hung up at Windows screen.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

I have the same setup... AMD + TYAN

Mine will run at 450, but it is about %5 less table.

I have a question however. Does yours fail when you shutdown windows. Mine shuts down like %80 percent, but then I get a kernel error and it reboots. However, I can "restart" from windows just fine.

I got it running. I increased the voltage to 2.5 and it boot up fine with no hang up. So far so good, I will probably will get a new fan. I'm afraid that it might get too hot.

I don't really see a big difference though.
