I'm trying to overclock my K6 III 400 to 450 on my Tyan S1598c2 motherboard by increasing the multiplier to 4.5 and the voltage at 2.4
When I boot up the system just hung up at Windows screen.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

I have the same setup... AMD + TYAN

Mine will run at 450, but it is about %5 less table.

I have a question however. Does yours fail when you shutdown windows. Mine shuts down like %80 percent, but then I get a kernel error and it reboots. However, I can "restart" from windows just fine.

I got it running. I increased the voltage to 2.5 and it boot up fine with no hang up. So far so good, I will probably will get a new fan. I'm afraid that it might get too hot.

I don't really see a big difference though.

Also Overclockers.com has the o/c results from many users, not a lot of info but you can see what others have done:

Edit: Found out that when I put the P after the colon above that it gave me an unexpected "smiley" :p
