What year is it? One year can be fixed with a registry hack(Outlook 2000 I believe), Outlook 2002 and Outlook XP do not have such an option available.

It's not a firewall. It's virus software. I work with this atleast once a week. I had two of these calls yesterday here at work.

As an IT admin, I love the fact that Outlook blocks them. It has kept a lot of virus hassles out of the workplace. If I ever need to send a legitimate .exe via e-mail I just zip it up (or change the extension). Easy.

ITS NOT ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE. Outlook itself is saying "outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachments: xxxx.exe"

Or, you can try going into tools--options---security---and puting security to low. Try that.

Not sure what that will do.

And when that happened to me, I uninstalled Norton SystemWorks which includes Norton Anti-Virus and it fixed the problem.

So you're telling me that my experience was a dream or something?

Relax, bub.

You're asking how to fix it. Wrong forum.

And your answers have been wrong, so what's your interest in this thread when you've shown you don't know how to fix it?

He said he doesn't have any AV software installed. He didn't say you were lying or something...

Well Outlook Express also blocked *.jpg files with the IE 6, SP1. Isn't that just ridiculous? Great security

I've shown a method that works. You've said that it's not your anti virus because you don't have one. Do you see me still pushing my fix? No. You thought that an antivirus couldn't possibly be the problem anyway because Outlook said that Outlook was blocking it, so I refuted it. Now you're getting all pissed off and still refusing to see that you posted in the wrong forum.

I have plenty of interest in this thread.

My point was this:

"ITS NOT ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE. Outlook itself is saying "outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachments: xxxx.exe""

Even though it says Outlook is blocking it, that doesn't mean that an antivirus program can't possibly be blocking it, like he was saying above.
