if i just bought a digital camera that has Smartmedia can I still use this picture frame?

I'm guessing not, as it states it requires: Digital Camera with Compactflash Card

158 left as of 11:26pm PST. I'm surprised there are still any left at all.

OK, 154 left as of now ;-)

no more coupon. 114 here in CA after taxes. Is this still a good deal? Esp, compared to coupon + out of state = 20 bucks cheaper?

Yeah it's still better than you'd find on ebay and more than half of what you'd find on larger stores like Amazon. Now I am wondering if I should order another one.

I broke down and bought 3 more for $311 shipped.

I figure I can always ebay them and at least make my money back if I decide I don't want them as Christmas presents...

Only 36 left!

Yes but if you leave the CF you can have unlimted memory. I just bought another one. My small savings is dwindling down. Now big question is which of my friends deserve a $115 dollar present!

when I began this thread, it was read to ship in geeks,
after I read through the thread, out of stock, what a pity.

Usually sites such as Computergeeks re-order and resupply their stock. Any clue when this might happen? I looked through the FAQ pages, no luck. Their Customer Sat department is not open on Saturdays. Darn good deal, pity it's toast.

OK, I just jumped and bought four of these (one for my parents,
one for my grandmother, one for my wife's parents, one for my
sister). These had better be GOOD, 'cause I have a Kensington
$50 digital frame that sucks the big one that's getting returned
(luckily, the resolution of the Kensington is not the stated 720x480
that is on the box, so I should have no problem returning it to
Microcenter). No point in buying these if they're gonna have the
same shootake display (low res, impossible to see except face on).

The quandry is what to do re: the compactflash slot. Not one of
the people these are for has a compactflash device or reader.
I guess I can just direct them to a cheap Lexar USB compactflash
reader for around $30 if they want to change the pictures.

simple/stupid question....

I have a SONY SCR-85 digital camera, that obviously uses the SONY mem sticks.
How do I transfer from the mem sticks to this picture frame?

You will need to upload the photos from you ??!??!#!! proprietary
memory stick to a computer and then download them again to
a compactflash card. There are at least three ways you could do
the download: 1) Get a USB CF cardreader (Lexar makes one, among
others); 2) Get a compactflash-> PCMCIA adaptor card if you have
a notebook computer (cheapest, easiest option if you have a notebook);
3) Get one of those "USB enabled" compactflash cards that comes
with a USB adaptor...I got a 16Mb card/USB adaptor at CompUSA
for free after rebate a few months ago...

Just checked: Down to *THREE* frames left at CompGeeks. Man, these
seem to fly out!

I'm assuming that Sony has a way for you to transfer the images from the memory sticks to the computer. Once that's done, you can get a compact flash reader/writer and a compact flash card. You can transfer the images to the CF card and then to the frame.

I don't believe there is a mem stick to CF adapter at all (although I could be wrong).

Oh BTW I love my SONY DSC-S85. Best camera I ever bought.
You just can't beat a Carl Zeiss lens and 4.1 megapixles =)
