Codeine. Actually I'd opt for the Tylenol, but then again I never take pain killers.

I've actually got two bottles of that at home from when I had my mysterious throat disease. Also have vicadin and percocet sitting in the cabinet from my foot surgeries.

Depends on what country you are in today ;)

Try ice and naproxen. Good for inflamation and can take it every 8 hours instead of the 4 to 6 for the Ibuprofen.

Acetaminophen is pretty much useless

LOL! Sounds like lyrics from a Greenday song.

*fast beat*

...slipped on a sock and down I went....
...sheer pain en-suuuuuing......
....need to drink beer and get well fast...
....sniffing gluuu--uing...

:D

You're in school over there...do they have a clinic? Somewhere you can go to get real drugs? Hell, you're in the Netherlands, right? ALL drugs are available at the corner store, right? Two Feldene's or Torradols washed down with a few beers and you won't feel anything at all.

None of the above. Get some Naproxen. Can take it every 8 hours, and works for inflammation.

Ibuprofen is good, but need to take it more often

Tylenol is pretty useless

Tylenol is for pain, ibuprofen is for inflamation.

If it hurts take the tylenol. When it is inflamed the next couple of days, ibuprofen.

I still don't understand why people come here as soon as they are hurt. We're computer geeks, not doctors.

That brings back bad memories! When I was about 12, we were visiting an uncle for the weekend, he lived in an old Victorian style house with those really steep staircases. The stairs were made of some hard wood they kept a nice sheen on using hard wood polish.

I slept upstairs and started to come down the next morning in my socks, I got to the second step and WEEEE! my feet slid right out from under me. I came down hard, hit my spine, knocked the wind out of me, then tumbled the rest of the way down with a big thud at the end. I couldn't breathe at all, it was as though I had exhaled completely on impact, then my trachea collapsed or something. I just kept trying to inhale but couldn't.

Of course the whole family was gathered around me by the time I started turning blue, everyone was panicking, someone dialed 911. Hell I was even panicking, because I couldn't breathe, that is a terrifying feeling.

So after what seemed like an eternity, but was probably only like two minutes or less, I was finally able to inhale and exhale a little. By the time EMS came I was fine, laughing about it all. My back hurt like hell but I was otherwise fine.
