Mark, Brett Thanks for all and this goes to the entire TeAm - Thanks for your support

Jimmy - Thanks mate - it is appreciated Sir!

UPDATE: regarding the case ( i do not feel well ) . . . the judge heard from Plaintif / laywer + 2 witness
and when i answered / questioned - he ended the Trial - by stating he will send 'his' decision
- by way of the U. S. Mail (no time or date) . . .

The Landlords Lawyer *LIED* about having 'fixed' the roof - said he had a Licensed / Professional Roofer
repair the entire *NEW* roof - there hasn't been any work done on roof in the 4 years i live here

The Lawyer stated he had Paid the SCEP (Systematic Code Enforcement Program Fees) and i had a Certified
Document - from The LA Housing Department (Fee Collection Div.) - proving that the fees were not paid
during 2001 / 2002 . . . and the Lawyer states they are -
i just finished calling the Housing Department - to see if they had Paid the fee during the day (today) and the
Department says the fees aren't Paid and that it is a "very substantial amount"

i don't know what is going to happen now - but since the Judge says - i will receive his decision - in the Mail
and that could be any day - which means that the Sherrifs / Marshall will be Posting my door promptly after
that - which will then give me 3 Days to clear out . . . what a drag - a lawyer lies in a court of law - and is most
likely going to get away with it :disgust: :disgust:
rolleye.gif
arghhhhhh !!!

anyway - there is an awful lot more - but i don't think i can last any longer - writing this all out - i have a lot
to do to figure 'what i will be doing' . . . this is so tiresome . . .

sorry all - for this long idiotic writing . . . you are all a great TeAm and again Thanks for the support . . .

What do you call 1000 lawyers at the bottom of a lake?

A good start.;)

Sorry to hear it didn't go as well as it should have. I hope the judge has some sense.

Any way you could send your documentation that the lawyer lied to the judge, anonymously, or through a lawyer?

Sucks you didn't get a chance to prove them wrong. :|

Maybe you could have submitted pics of the roof to prove that it had not been fixed. I guess the judge
didn't let you submit the certified document from the LA Housing Department?
Dasm.

Damn, sounds like he made sure the argument was quite one-sided. That sucks. Hope it works out ok for you in the end. :(

thanks all . . . the argument in court was basically - "my word against an attorney + his *Witness'* :disgust:

i presented a sealed / certified letter from Housing - that the fees weren't paid -
and Photos of the roof - which is 'screwed' - don't mean anything to the Judge -
when the witness' say that "there is a new roof - done by a licensed professional roofer"
Note: wait until the Inspector's go up there - and see the truth - but it's already too late for me :-(

the decision will up to the judge (praying) whether he wants to accept the facts
or listen to the 'shyster' lawyer (spitting on the ground)
the Laws in California have to change or there will be an awful lot of people on the streets soon :brokenheart:

anyway - i have to wait an unknown period of time - until the letter arrives (sighing)

i will attempt to think *Positive*

If I were the judge, I would have asked for written, notarized proof from the landlord that all work had been done, as well as follow up myself with the housing dept. But then, I'm not a judge in Ca. :(

Do you know why lawyers always wear neck-ties in court?

To keep the fore-skin from covering up their heads!

:p :D

Mark - the Judge (did) look - but the word of the Lawyer means more (i guess) though i have to
wait for his 'decision' . . .

UPDATE - have all papers from Housing / Dept of Bldg & Safety . . . owner has been asked to
replace / put new roof on and over 30 other major fixes in building . . . the clincher for the owner
is that he has to have 'licensed' contractors / and pull 'permits' - in order to comply to the new
compliance ruling - and he doesn't plan on doing so . . . so they will take the building away from
him - under the new city ordinace rulings . . . and even though i haver brought all of this to the
attention of the 'authorities' and got the ball rolling . . . it's all too late (supposedly) for me -
because all of the *Certified* Papers were corrected / certified / and mailed today . . . yesterday
was the day i needed everthing in order - but the City of Los Angeles Dept.'s couldn't get everthing
done in time . . . (bummer for me) . . . so i wait and see (praying)

Thanks for your responses & help All . . .

i will keep you all informed.

richard
