As you guys (obviously) have an interest in computers, and some of you in cars, like I do, some of you might remember a year or so ago when I posted pics of my Mk2 carputer.

Well, a year later, and Mk3 is done, so I thought you might like to have a little look at it :)

Nice Garry!! :)

So you've got a touch-screen... very handy!
And does the GPS-mouse does the job well? I'm still thinking about
one for my Apple...

I haven't had any problems with my one :) I'm not sure if my one will work on an Apple..and there is less of a selection of GPS software for the Apple probably compared to the PC platform.

Pretty cool, Garry. One question though, why is the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car? ;) :p :D

It's so that when I am jousting, I am holding my lance in my right hand, which for the majority, is the stronger hand/arm :)

I actually need to get MilkDrop installed on it, along with the couple of thousand visualisations, and set it to random ;) Not got a chance to hook up the usb wifi adapter properly yet and find somewhere to hide it ;)

Hell, maybe, depends! With MediaCar, you can set up external applications, which will open up within MediaCar itself. So you can open up a program (NetStumbler for instance) and set it to use GPS to plot them, and flick back to the play music screen and change the track if you don't like it, then go back to NetStumbler :)

Or, more than likely, the WiFi will be used to transfer the odd new music file from my desktop PC! :)

Awesome Garry,

Either expect a call from Bill Gates & Co and you'll be a multi-millionaire or they will copy what you have done verbatim and sue you for messing with "their" IP.

I sincerely hope it is the first one.

Great job. I always wondered about many uses for the USB to IDE adapter. Sucks being broke.

David,

The MP3Car.com community is quite large, and there are many people who also have computers in their cars.

Microsoft are actually thinking about bringing out an automotive entertainment system, so I guess they've already stolen the ideas off other people ;)

So I doubt i'll be making my millions yet ;)

My boss, after seeing mine, is very interested in a system in his E30 BMW 325i, so I shall more than likely be helping him with that! I'll get him to order a couple of extra USB to IDE adapters for use at work, as we both use laptops, so there is no spare IDE cables to plug hard drives into to get data off them! :) I will be sure to post some pics of his setup when it is done also.
