with all these small wins for ROTK, it must mean that there's no change it'll win best picture. These are like pitty wins...haha

They can't NOT give it to LOTR, I mean the special affects? They dwarf everything that came out ever. This is a clean sweep.

I now know why Jim Carry is messed in the head.

Lord of the Rings won everything it was nominated for, I think. Of course, in typical holywood BS fashion it'll probably continue to win until Best Picture nomination comes up. Then some low budget movie that nobody even watched will end up winning.

So if a movie makes a lot of money and many people go see it, it deserves to win Best Picture?

That being said, if it DOES win, the nerds on these forums will be strokin' it all night long

No, but if nobody saw that movie then there's probably a reason. :)

Did anybody notice that they editted out part of Jim Carrey's speech? I wonder what he said.

Low budget = less advertising and less showings at theatres.

Monster was low budget, and started out in less than 1000 theatres.

I guess Charlize doesn't deserve to win if we follow your logic.

There aren't any no-name movies nominated this year. The only one that would surprise me is Seabiscuit. It was a great movie, but I didn't think it was the best picture type.
