Mine started out as Juggernaut (an unstoppable force), but I was limited to 8 characters back in the IRC days, so I shortened it to Jugernot.

My old nickname used to be "NightDarker" because my friend in Florida used the nickname "Daylighter", a popular brand of headlights for off-roading. I just reversed the words around to their antonyms. I should still use that...

Heh well, I was playing Chrono Trigger on an emu, and I needed to name my character. Cannabis didn't fit (stupid I know, but I was young and stupid), so I somehow came up with Canai. I was still going by Cylune at that time, but when I built my current comp I switched nicks.

my name IRL translates from Sanskrit to English as 'Silent King of Kings'.

I just thought that was too pompous, so i spent an afternoon of how to use it, but not. Came up with AmpedSilence.

in high school, lots of the kids called nicknamed my "shady" for various things I did 😛

so i was shady06 until one of my bosses once told me that the company I worked for employed corporate thugs, i.e. people who would bully there way to business deals they want.
