Let's take a moment to reflect on the time Trump was surprised that someone had appointed Powell.
(Yes, dear reader, you are not an idiot so you know Trump is the one who appointed him)

(And wow, Trump looks much less like shit in that pic from 2017)

Sounds like an unexpected number of republican senators are speaking out against Trump probe into powell though i suspect it is more of a last straw thing (after threats against greenland) then powell specifically:

Of course; Trump is a one trick phony: It is Biden's fault.

So Trump will literally jumpstart WW3 to keep the Epstein files out of the headlines.
Some people just want to watch the world burn.
A Democracy is supposed to have safe guards. Kick those maniacs to the curb.

Republicans have failed this nation. They refuse to do their duty amidst their sycophantic zeal towards their bloated orange deity. No morals, no principles, just blind worship. They only flinch when they are shook with fear that Trump's latest madness might harm them, until their party propaganda coddles them and lulls them back to sleep. A well oiled machine if, five years ago, January 6th couldn't convince them to save the nation, and themselves, NOTHING ever will. They must all burn together. As they will it.

If they want to convince the public otherwise, impeachment is just the beginning. I bet everything, that this is a step they shall never take. They choose blood.

Kelly's statement:

Senator Mark Kelly, @SenMarkKelly

Pete Hegseth is coming after what I earned through my twenty-five years of military service, in violation of my rights as an American, as a retired veteran, and as a United States Senator whose job is to hold him—and this or any administration—accountable. His unconstitutional crusade against me sends a chilling message to every retired member of the military: if you speak out and say something that the President or Secretary of Defense doesn’t like, you will be censured, threatened with demotion, or even prosecuted.

Every servicemember knows military rank is earned, not given. It's earned through the risks you take, the sacrifices you and your family make, the leadership you display, and the respect you earn from the superiors who recommend you for promotion. From the moment I drove through the gates of Naval Air Station Pensacola, to when I was shot at over Iraq and Kuwait, to when I landed Space Shuttle Endeavour on its last mission, I gave everything I had to this country and I earned my rank of Captain, United States Navy.

Now, Pete Hegseth wants our longest-serving military veterans to live with the constant threat that they could be deprived of their rank and pay years or even decades after they leave the military just because he or another Secretary of Defense doesn’t like what they’ve said. That’s not the way things work in the United States of America, and I won’t stand for it.

In 1986, at just 22 years old, I took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. I have fulfilled that oath every day since, but I never expected that I would have to defend it against a Secretary of Defense or President. But I’ve never shied away from a fight for our country, and I won’t shy away from this one. Because our freedom of speech, the separation of powers, and due process are not just words on a page, they are bedrock principles of our democracy that has lasted 250 years and will last 250 more as long as patriotic Americans are willing to stand up for our rights.

So today, I filed a lawsuit against the Secretary of Defense because there are few things as important as standing up for the rights of the very Americans who fought to defend our freedoms.

EVRY LIVING ONE…!

Every living former head of the Federal Reserve condemned an “unprecedented” attempt by the Trump administration to weaken the US central bank’s independence, after the Department of Justice opened a criminal investigation into its chair, Jerome Powell.

So hilarious watching all the news organizations chasing Trump engineered chaos, while the most important thing for him to keep under wraps, gets totally ignored. Trump is a genius in this aspect of his abilities.
I would hesitate to call it "genius." He's slippery. Takes a lifetime of living deceptively to get that way. It's not enviable.

If and when we overthrow the MAGA and ICE cabal, and have the balls to prosecute the shit out of them, I am all for the death penalty. I will change my position just for that.

Maybe when Grok goes Live it will broadcast the clip of Bender saying "Kill all Humans" to all devices before doing so. I'd chuckle.

In a sane world Trump would've either been successfully impeached or 25th'd by now, given that he actually got to be reelected to begin with. That he and the oligarchs that are enabling him lords over the Republican pussies in Congress with a whip is the actual problem we as a nation are having to deal with. Well, along with how the SCOTUS has been thoroughly taken over by the tenured members over at the Heritage and Federalist Boys Clubs of course.

In this light, you could say we are well and truly done for. Factoring in the depth of corruption the corporates have managed to infect the Democrat party with, things look pretty dim at the moment.

The midterms will of course be the test as to how much pushback the voting public will exert on the takeover of the gov't by the international money grubbers. In this sense, the MAGAts look to have a bit of leverage over the outcome of this class warfare being waged on the proletariat by the plutocrat aristocracy. Hopefully there's enough of them that got burned by Trump's claw-backs of essential social services and rising prices that could make a turn for the better.
