This is literally the same thing that happened with Bush. People may have forgotten but the precursor to TDS was BDS where conservatives claimed liberals only hated Bush because of some emotional derangement.

Then when Bush proved himself terrible beyond any doubt they pretended all that never happened and that they never liked him to begin with. It’s all bad faith bullshit. After all while it was 20 years ago there are tons of current Trump voters who were enthusiastic Bush supporters only to now decide Bush was bad because Trump says so.

there was the opposite effect with Reagan. Reagan was thoroughly reviled by the public in last year and especially after when even his steadfast supporters got tired of the treason and shit economy. Then of course they got mad at Bush 1 for trying to fix things.

But when Newt came around, conservatives were forced to revise their opinion about Reagan, there was a Heritage-led assault of Reagan-praise biographies and re-assessments from the most illiterate and malicious of conservative talking heads to revitalize the image of an unmistakable treasonous and barbarous cvnt like Reagan to make him the golden child of all conservatives anywhere. Once they learned that this strategy worked on their simple-minded, drooling voters (See: greenman and geek), it was lights out for the conservative movement. Heritage knew that they could shove any amount of crime and US-hating bullshit down the throats of these morons, tell them it was patriotism, and they'd swallow it up. All they had to do was just let 105th Congress spend 2 full years of nothing but stapling Reagan's name on everything and these idiots would clap like circus seals. Just look at them: not a thinking cell in their fucking skulls.

Now here we are.

Newt is on my, “biggest piece of shit for American democracy” list, along with Mitch McConnell, dick Cheney, Rumsfeld, and alito. Trump wasn’t on the list his first term and I figured him to be a figurehead with no real impact on our democracy but then 1/6 happened and he’s now on the top piece of shit spot. His “policies”, like Reagan’s, will be something America will have to deal with for probably fifty years.

Don't forget Jordan and friends in the house with their constant 'investigations' of nothing.

There are plenty of people to blame but the ones on my list are either the original underminers of democracy or they took it to a new level. For example; Mitch McConnell wasn’t the first to obstruct a president of another party but he took his obstruction to a new level and one that undermined democracy directly, specifically his refusal to give a sitting presidents Supreme Court nomination a hearing for a dubious reason and then ignored his own precedent when his party took power.

Dick Cheney and Rumsfeld got on the list for their involvement in the Iraq war which lead to the death of thousands of more Americans than were killed at the hands of terrorists. They were directly involved in lying to the American public (planting a story and then using the story as a source/justification was pretty low), and they led a good man to lie to the world (Powell).

Alito made the list (I actually meant Scalia but both are pretty bad) because him and the federalist society have directly undermined the legitimacy of the Supreme Court with numerous cases that contradict their own previous rulings and reasoning as well as outright lie about the facts of the case (see the coach who prayed on the football field) not to mention the calvinball rulings of made up doctrines (like Maggie questions doctrine). IMO one of the worst rulings and an example of what was to come was heller vs dc and the reinterpretation on the 2nd amendment. They as well as others have undermined the legitimacy of the court not to mention citizens united and the shit storm that has brought.

So while there are plenty of “characters” like Jim Jordan, they “exist” because people like newt and McConnell created the space for them to exist.

That school privatization plan is going well isn't it? LOL

More of awesome policies greenman voted for.

what, you mean letting SCOTUS send public funds to private schools to privatize their profits and lower the education outcomes was a bad thing??? And now that they are a private-wealth generation mechanism they are vulnerable to anyone that wants to "invest in them"?

Are you telling me that conservatives have been wrong about yet another shit idea that vomits from their pieholes over the last 5 decades? Say it ain't so!

Yes, greenman and geek are very proud to send their grandchildren to Chinese indoctrination camps, now that they've happily voted to eliminate the "failing public education system" which was never in any way failing, ever. This is what happens when you let pedophile Nazis vote to put pedophile Nazis in power.

I do finally understand why my fake Christian pastor representative was so proud about cosponsoring a bill to prevent foreign influence in schools. (I haven’t looked to see if it includes private schools or just public schools )

I almost fell off my couch in the last South Park episode I watch kyle or Stan ( I still cannot tell the apart). Made the comment Jesus went Christian
Well there is a simple fix for that issue; don't sit on the couch when watching south park.
