Denmark has chosen the Franco-Italian SAMP/T air defense system over U.S. Patriots, in a massive win for Paris and a blow to Donald Trump.

"The Danish Armed Forces are building a ground-based air defence that can protect civilians, military targets and critical infrastructure from threats from the air," the Danish Defense Ministry said Friday.

"For the long-range system, the Franco-Italian-produced SAMP/T will be procured, while for the medium-range systems, a choice will be made between one or more systems from the Norwegian-produced NASAMS, the German IRIS-T, and the French VL MICA," the statement continues.

Is probably a start of a long term trend.

Even though SCOTUS seems to bend over backwards for Trump, and the administration has no problem breaking some laws, events like this go to show that it is still important to fight them on everything and not acquiesce.

Of course. Who would be banging down the door to buy US equipment? You're talking about long-term purchases and support that will outlive the current administration. Sure, a saner person could be elected in 2028, but who's to say a chunk of the American people don't go crazy and elect another wackadoodle in 2032? After years of steady policy, Trump has come along and ripped up the copper wire; a mind-numbingly stupid decision that will cost the US a lot long-term. If we are ever going to get people to come back to the table with us, it's only going to be with more substantial concessions than we would have had to give in the past.

Just heard Putin needs more missiles too, has asked Erdogan if he can buy back some of the unused S-400 stock Turkey bought in 2019. Erdogan reportedly seems at least open to the idea, which I find pretty disappointing.

Damn funny to see Putin shoot drones over Poland, then turn around and ask another NATO member for AD assistance. The world has truly gone bananas.

Just another example of Republicans and Trump being pro-human rights abuse and pro-human trafficking:

The Biden administration increased protections for H-2A workers, but several lawsuits filed by states including Georgia have prevented them from fully going into effect. This past June, the Trump administration went one step further, suspending any enforcement of the new program’s rules until that litigation is resolved.

The number of H-2A visas issued has increased every year since Sofi arrived. The escalation of Trump’s deportation efforts this year has led to arrests of undocumented farmworkers — who account for over 40% of all field laborers — and sparked enough fear to convince others to no longer show up to work. If farmers are squeezed further by the shortage of farmworkers, the H-2A program can fulfill that demand. There’s no limit to how many visas can be issued.

1.5 trillion. Hallas.

Because your genocidal pimp Bibi wanted to shatter diplomatic norms in the ME so he could kill some Hamas leaders. Top two targets survived too apparently.

Sad news everyone. Most of us in the US died last year and we're just machine hallucinations.

Prepping invasion of Venezuela as the next Epstein distraction once the coverage of the LGBTQ/antifa/Soros/Obama murder of St. Charlie loses steam in the press coverage.

After that, 100% tariffs on Vatican city for not immediately granting sainthood to the douchebag, followed by creation of "Trump Church" with Kirk as Jesus.

I'll put this one here due to it being a result of immigration policy. Trump voters may not believe in material politics but material politics believes in them. Treating it like sports where there are no real consequences or just as a cultural conflict has quite tangible financial downsides.

'The whole thing is screwed up': Farmers in deep-red Pennsylvania struggle to find workers

In Tioga County, where President Donald Trump won 75 percent of the vote in 2024, farmers are losing patience with the White House’s promise of a quick solution for farm workers. Their urgent need is highlighted by stories like those of a multigenerational dairy farm that sold off all its dairy cows because the owner could not find workers and another where a farmer’s job listings have received no responses.

“The whole thing is screwed up,” said John Painter, a three-time Trump voter who runs an organic dairy farm in Westfield. “We need people to do the jobs Americans are too spoiled to do.”

John Painter’s northern Pennsylvania farm sits on land where his family has run an organic dairy for decades. A former member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau board of directors, Painter said he initially turned to migrant labor during Trump’s first term, when he struggled to find willing workers.

He hired a Mexican couple who worked for him for two years until the husband was pulled over during a visit to family in New York. The man was later arrested and placed in removal proceedings after law enforcement discovered he had falsified papers. He was held in detention for more than a year before being deported to Mexico. His wife and children followed.

“I understand that he was here illegally, but I also understand that he’s human,” Painter said. “They want the American dream, and they want to work.”

Painter eventually managed to find another couple, this one from Guatemala. But the wife is due to have a child in November, and Painter is wondering how he and the husband will manage to care for a 450-head dairy operation on their own.

“If they’re here working and paying their taxes,” Painter said, “they are not the troublemakers that we should be focusing on getting rid of.”

Painter voted for Trump three times, but he said he’s “very disappointed” in how the president has handled immigration policy this term.

“It’s not right, what they’re doing,” he said. “All of us, if we look back in history, including the president, we have somebody that came to this country for the American dream.”

"“We need people to do the jobs Americans are too spoiled to do.”"

LOL, fuck that guy. What he really means is "we need people we can pay and treat like dirt to do menial labor with minimal oversight."

We basically hit full employment which means that better jobs than his were on offer for Americans and he can't compete so has to use non-native labor. This is reality in large chunks of the economy (ag, hospitality, healthcare, construction, etc).

Imagine being remembered as the President who politicized cancer just because he didn’t want his fiercest rival to get any credit for the progress made under his Cancer Moonshot initiatives.

Nothing like being "Pro-Cancer." This administration is absolutely disgusting.

These fuckers voted to remove immigrants.
Now their only choice is to pay workers a wage that Americans will work for.
You left out "mass arrests and convictions followed by prison labor". Probably more of a 2028 platform though, LOL: "Literally Own Libs!" (as the 13th amendment has a carve-out to allow slavery/involuntary servitude as punishment for a crime).
