I read yesterday that my senator, Ron Johnson, met with Trump and still isn't in agreement about the big beautiful bill. I sent the senator an email offering my thoughts and actually encouraging his defiance to the bill that morning. Coincidence? I think not. But I believe he will still cave, despite talks of not seeking reelection. Only politicians not seeking reelection do the right thing, so who knows.

SCOTUS stops federal courts from issuing nationwide injunctions. Trump's flagrantly illegal Birthright Citizenship EO that cancels the 14th amendment can go into effect.

We do not have a country organized under the constitution anymore and it is past time to stop pretending we do. This court needs to be dealt with.

They should start issuing circuit-wide injunctions now.

As for SCOTUS, they're just clowns. Who can possibly know what is illegal until it has been fully litigated, even when it should be obvious. Also, the president can keep doing the illegal things while the litigation is happening because reasons.

Conservative fed judges have issued these kinds of injections for years without a peep from the court. Judges issuing injunctions against Trump policies is apparently suddenly a problem.

This court has to be dealt with.

Bolded, big time.

On the bright side, this means all the nationwide injunctions from that one district in TX are not valid outside that district, right? RIGHT? RIGHT?

The real, bigger scandal is still the alleged hiding of Biden's health. It's definitely not Trump having his brain literally melting before our eyes as his evil vicars run their own illegal policies out of the White House.

Any Dem candidate in 2028 who rules out court expansion is not getting my vote. It is intolerable to have this country ruled by six people who were not elected setting flagrantly biased policy that people don't want aiding and abetting a criminal president that they have made into a king. If they try to stop court packing well then I have an answer to that too within their own immunity decision.

SCOTUS gave a big thumbs up for child porn today too with the porn website age verification case from Texas. People looking for porn won't want to give out their ID, so they'll turn to darker websites that don't really bother following laws, and you can bet they'll likely be hosting a lot of other bad shit.

But that's to be expected from the pro-child abuse party that is the GOP.

Didn't Biden commission a committee to look into this, and was ultimately deemed too unpopular? I forget, but it was 3-4 years ago so there may be more appetite for it now.

At every level of government when you don't want to do something but you need to fake it you assign the issue to a BS commission or committee to deliver a report. See also every committee for reducing the national debt/deficit.

Biden clearly didn't believe in it and enough D senators at the time didn't either.

This is what Republicans voted for and what they continue to support as they turn blind eyes to the obvious insanity and inhumanity the current administration is perpetrating.
I know many, many people who are either military babies with dual citizenship themselves, or have children that are in this situation (born off-base while serving overseas). Fucking madness.

Yeah, with this court, could John McCain, actually have been elected president?

I assume this means the SAVE student loan injunction is gone?

Anyone looking to do PSLF should really be signing up for the IBR plan, even if the payment is higher, because PSLF is written into the statute, whereas SAVE and whatnot are just regulations that some have no problems with just shredding.
