I would say Trump's full of shit as usual with his "people don't want it off" comment about a paid holiday. But I also remember when AZ was about to become the last state to observe MLK's birthday. They interviewed a few AZ folks on the news who didn't want the day off because they refused to acknowledge a black man and didn't believe he should be celebrated. So apparently there are people so racist they wouldn't want a paid day off work if it has anything to do with a person of color. You have to be racist with every drop of your blood to not want time off work.

99.99999999% of people will never complain about a paid holiday. I would gladly vote yes on a David Duke national holiday if it meant a paid day off work. Trump is sounding as stupid as ever with this nonsense. And hilariously, I saw some MAGAs replying to his tweet saying we need to work more not less days. They just support anything that comes out his mouth.

Long story short Trump ending protected status for large numbers of people has real consequences. Deep read Iowa town surprised at how "good immigrants" are being impacted.

Basically all the talk of gangs and "illegal criminal immigrants" has drowned out a very basic truth. The vast majority of people in the world want the same thing, meaningful work that allows them to support their families and build a better life for their children. When people get to know immigrants they generally find this to be true but have trouble applying it to immigration in general.

I missed this news. WTAF?! Completely unnecessary for what they are wanting to do, IMHO. They are not officers, and it's a complete slap in the face for anyone that put in the time and work to achieve their rank.

If I recall from one article, as a further slap in the face, they aren't going to even be required to do the basic trainings commissioned officers are typically required to attend.
