Government attorneys have never referenced the tattoos in court filings to support their claims that Abrego Garcia is a gang member. Their allegation rests on the word of a confidential police informant who in 2019 claimed the Maryland father was a member of MS-13’s “Westerns” clique, which operates out of New York, where Abrego Garcia has never lived.

Several social media users expressed doubt over the authenticity of the image of a hand Trump held in the post.




I believe eventually people who aren't peices of shit will manage to get Garcia back in the US. He should be able to sue the president for slander for this shit. I especially like how Trump added etc after MS-13 and the domestic issue with his wife. There's no etc, not even the MAGAs have managed to create other new illegal scenarios for this man (yet) Trump holding up a photoshopped picture as proof's pretty damn wild. I guess any 4 tattoos would mean MS-13 in Garcia's case.

And no, 2 highly respected courts didn't say he was an MS-13 member, they did say he was mistakenly identified as one and said there was no proof other than the word of a single informant who didn't have any proof himself.

It doesn’t matter if he’s dad of the year or a really bad guy. Our rule of law guarantees due process to EVERYONE and the fact that the media or most people keep bringing up his character as if it matters plays right into trumps hand and only helps to ignore the real issue.

There will be pain. There will be inflation. A loss of normalcy and of dry goods. A loss of jobs and one hell of an economic loss.
But it won't start with Mad Max. We'll have to slide into it and there's a slim chance MAGA's alt-reality isn't strong enough to dive head first into the worst. That is, if we still have elections.

The money would work. I’d be the most beloved and hated secretary in history. Recognizing that modern warships are not armored, I’d have windows installed so sailors have something to look at. All military headwear would have brims to keep off the sun and rain. I’d have the army build a tank incorporating the main gun turret off the Iowa class battleships. It would be useless but so badass. When we have diplomatic disputes, I’d invite the foreign leaders to go for a ride on my tank. The message would be clear, “Don’t f’ with America.”
This gun is an ordinary 76mm but we add this piece of pipe onto it, and the Krauts think, like, maybe it's a 90mm. We got our own ammunition, it's filled with paint. When we fire it, it makes... pretty pictures. Scares the hell outta people! We have a loudspeaker here, and when we go into battle we play music, very loud. It kind of... calms us down.

I need to watch that film again soon!

When he beat Gore, I thought that would be the worst thing I'd see happen to this country in my lifetime. Now with 2 trump victories, and especially the 2nd one. I don't even think Jr beating Gore is mentionable as something bad anymore. And we have basically 4 more years of this shit.

Turns out Bush jr was a horrible president but decent person; after all it was he who pushed for the creation of the text book on pandemic response. Trump is a horrible president who is also a horrible person.
 
I think for a lot of the bad stuff Trump is doing the groundwork was laid by his predecessors. Not just Bush Jr but also Obama, who failed to close Guantanamo. Once you had the precedent established of offshore prison camps to avoid awkward legal constraints that dealing with things domestically would involve, you opened the door for Trump potentially shipping off _anyone_ he doesn't like to such camps. There's a lot of continuity in Trumpism with long-standing US behaviour.
