Useful summary of the story so far. They are already ignoring Supreme Court orders - how long before they start rounding up/deporting US citizens?

It's not deporting - that makes it sound relatively benign. It's really illegal detention and rendition. After all, they're sending people to a third country's prison without any process. They're not just sending them away to be free in their home country or in a third country. In simple terms: violating the principle of innocent until proven guilty.

Oh look, abusing the SSA database for harassing immigrants seems to have caused some trouble for others. How could anyone have seen this coming?

Trump Officials Blame Mistake for Setting Off Confrontation With Harvard https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/18/....wH2O.dCJPa35hCnaM&smid=nytcore-android-share

Just a little alleged woopsies there that started the ongoing confrontation with Harvard, lol. Total lunacy.
Yeah, total bullshit. Backtracking assholes now looking to blame this on a minion.
These magarats were always going to see how far they can push.
Harvard and any other top universities have no choice but to tell them to stick it where the sun isn't shining.

Just total clowns in the administration. No one takes responsibility, and no one is really in charge. Everyone is better off saying "make me" when they make their illegal demands.

So, this is what covid.gov redirects to now;

When are they going to redirect the NASA website to a page about the fake moon landing and info on our flat earth?
The origin makes no difference to the shitty decisions Trump made. It also didn't influence him into speculation about shoving lights up people's ass or injecting them with bleach.

Not related to this case, but I thought that once you had done your prison time, the idea was that you could return to society and live as a law abiding citizen. (except for specific cases like child molesting etc)

While this is inappropriate for many reasons (imho); there is a reasonable chance that covid did start from some sort of lab leak; the real problem is that China is not forth coming in their knowledge of what happened. However, USA govt is now as bad if not worse than China when it comes to deceitful actions by the govt.

Yes folks we are sunk to the level of china and russia with regards to govt behavior; and soon we will reach the level of NK.

The problem is the "lab leakers" also wanted to tie hat to US funding of research and the CDC as some great conspiracy.

And even if it *did* start in a lab, the origin of covid is irrelevant to Trump's disastrous response which should be classified as a crime against humanity

Musk, in particular, should be sent to The Hague at a minimum.
Well as much as I think Musk is a turd; i think this is a step too far; after all we don't arrest people for watching someone die in their front yard...

Now what i would love to see is for Germany to bar entry to Musk and if he did enter for him to be deported to El Salvador and having to spend a decade locked up.

I think the issue is that Musk is almost certainly responsible for DOGE installing the Treasury payments cutoff and personally blocking all USAID funding.

It's one thing to legislatively reduce funding and wind down programs, but that's not what happened. He illegally and abruptly ended programs, leaving everyone twisting in the wind to die.
