This idiot looks at a single database with completely unrealistic numbers and thinks that's all SSA was using to send checks, nevermind that I'm there are probably pools of tables, with multiple entries per SSN (ie, tracking name changes, address changes, etc...).

A part of me wants him to touch the stove, because a lot of people are tuned out.
The issue is that he wants to shut down the stove with a missile. Heck, this will lead to the end of the pensions.... or maybe Musk wants to end pensions and the compensantions to "cheap" workers... something that China won't dare now.

Nothing can be fixed or effectively stopped until the public is aware that something is going wrong, and then the people with power to do stuff (eg, Republicans in Congress) decide they want to do something about it.

And the public is kind of like a mix of people at the start of a zombie movie: largely unaware that anything is terribly wrong. And some that are mildly aware are like, "it's good to see someone taking charge" because 1) they're so used to see congressional gridlock, that they view it as a nice change of pace, and/or 2) they're idiots who don't understand that the face eating leopard is coming for them.

Meh, a not insignificant number would still say it was their patriotic duty as ordained by Trump and will happily go along with it.

And now the Trump adminstration has moved to a very important task of BOOK banning:

---
ulianne Moore has said it is a “great shock” to learn that one of her books had been “banned by the Trump Administration” from schools serving the children of US military personnel and civilian defence employees.

The Boogie Nights and Mary & George star wrote that she was “truly saddened” by the news in an Instagram post on Sunday.

Last Monday, the Department of Defense circulated a memo stating that it is examining library books “potentially related to gender ideology or discriminatory equity ideology topics”. After access to all library books was suspended for a week for a review, a “small number of items” were identified and have been kept for “further review”, it said.

Moore’s Freckleface Strawberry, a story about a girl who dislikes her freckles but learns to live with them, is among the books caught up in the blanket review, according to a list obtained by the Guardian. However, it is not known whether the title was selected for further review or for withdrawal.

“It is a book I wrote for my children and for other kids to remind them that we all struggle, but are united by our humanity and our community,” said Moore.

The review of library books is part of an examination of all “instructional resources”, according to the Defense Department, to check that its schools are aligned with Trump’s recent executive orders Ending Radical Indoctrination in K-12 Schooling and Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism.

This whole thing unravels if Musk stops paying SSI to like almost everybody in the country because he thinks it is"fraud" due to being a huge idiot.

I'm torn on whether he's actually incompetent enough to believe this is true, and not that he's potentially missing something about the data set, or if he just doesn't care because he knows his cult will clap their hands at all his good works as he builds the case to pull the rug from under them. I guess maybe both is viable, he's certainly not used to accountability.

My friend works for the government, he also has a number of probationary co-workers that voted for Trump who just had a very pleasant weekend sweating over whether they'll still have a job this week. Some of them are in situations I've heard about from others, where they transferred from one role to another within the goverment, IIRC one of them moved into a supervisor role that has a 2 year probationary period, for example.

It won't end well... now with the IA I don't be surprised if 70% of the workers ends being fired.

It's both. Elon lacks any humanity/empathy, and he's also just grossly incompetent at so much due to simply steamrolling over any facts or reality that get in the way of his desired outcome or point of view.

I pray all those Trumpers in that situation lose their jobs. Maybe that divine intervention will be proof of an actual god.

The issue? The becomes deadmeat for the army.
If the alliance US/Russia becomes real, I see them being sent to their fates.

With the end of democracy, the population are no longer needed to stay in power, just being cruel enough to show terror to the rivals

So how long until Trump makes birth control illegal?
Isn't already illegal for him? The "issue" are the human rights. Women and men won't want to get birth and the ones who does are not enough and don't want to be end as livestock.

So... there are 2 "solutions".
1. Slavery for the humans
2. Depends on machines.

Trump will sooner or later withdraw from NATO. Unless the Europeans pay the US for its expenses being part of it.

And I see that even if Europe pays, US will go with Russia to be stronger, both with Israel will have the most nukes in the world. Which is scary.

Meanwhile Russia leaving BRICS believe or not will impact China and India. Without fuel India dissapear and China goes in intensive care.

BRICS is barely a thing. It's not NATO or anything like that, or even free trade agreements. It's some weirdo internet thing that originally started as a financial reference for certain developing countries that got morphed into some bigger fake anti-American economic alliance.

America the Beautiful.

The US wanted Ukraine to sign away mineral rights for a meeting with Vance. They refused, and the meeting went on anyhow. Gross.

It failed as expected and I don't be surprised if China receives the same from Russia confirming an alliance between those 2 (US and Russia)

Looks like the US has been taken over by a gang of low IQ thugs whose first job was to eliminate any remaining ppl of competence and top advisers who can help them steer a sensible course. Its like they hijacked a plane and killed the pilot. The US and the world will be unrecognizable after 4 years.

I actually agree. You could accuse Hitler of many things, but cowardice was not among them. No magical bonespurs with Adolf. He'd get out of the car and join his security detail beating the shit out of protestors and communists. Trump, on the other hand, just smells like shit.

Adolf reportedly had a great time in WW1. He was really into it, apparently. Rather gloried in it all.

Really don't know if one would prefer one's demonic despots to have personal courage or not, though. Don't think it really makes much difference either way.
