Hey Trump has a fix for FAA issues and airline safety !!!!

Trump begins firings of FAA air traffic control staff just weeks after fatal Washington DC plane crash
The Associated Press reports that the Trump administration has begun firing several hundred Federal Aviation Administration employees, upending staff on a busy air travel weekend and just weeks after a January fatal mid-air collision at Ronald Reagan Washington National airport.

Probationary workers were targeted in late-night emails on Friday notifying them they had been fired, David Spero, president of the Professional Aviation Safety Specialists union, said in a statement.

The affected workers include personnel hired for FAA radar, landing and navigational aid maintenance, one air traffic controller told the Associated Press. The air traffic controller was not authorized to talk to the media and spoke on condition of anonymity.

Spero said messages began arriving after 7pm on Friday and continued late into the night. More might be notified over the long weekend or barred from entering FAA buildings on Tuesday, he said.

The employees were fired “without cause nor based on performance or conduct”, Spero said, and the emails were “from an ‘exec order’ Microsoft email address” – not a government email address.

The firings hit the FAA when it faces a shortfall in controllers. Federal officials have been raising concerns about an overtaxed and understaffed air traffic control system for years, especially after a series of close calls between planes at US airports. Among the reasons they have cited for staffing shortages are uncompetitive pay, long shifts, intensive training and mandatory retirements.

Do people just accept things because they got an official looking email from a Microsoft email address? Like is the only thing Russia needed to do to cause absolute chaos is to spam .gov email addresses saying they are fired? Please tell me I’m being crazy.

Pretty sure it is true because their gov email/phone were disabled just like other folks who were fired...

I'm a contractor and I do a lot of work with stuff that has to do with analytics and stuff like that, and an email went out on the government side saying we had to scrub code, confluence, and documents for DEI terms, and that they realize we will run into things like "diverse" and "inclusion" because that just comes with the territory when dealing with analytics. The email was basically giving instructions on that if you found those terms that it doesn't mean it had to be removed, but would require someone to vet it and make the decision on it.

Thankfully I wasn't tasked to waste my time working on that. It was all government people who had to do that.

eh fuck it

More on the firing of faa people:

and i love this blurb:

Spitzer-Stadtlander suggested he was targeted for firing for his views on Tesla and X, formerly Twitter, not as part of a general probationary-level sweep. Both companies are owned by Elon Musk, whose Department of Government Efficiency is leading Trump’s effort to cut the federal government.

Spitzer-Stadtlander said he was supposed to be exempted from the probationary firings because the FAA office he worked in focused on national security threats such as attacks on the national airspace by drones.

even though the email is from outlook.com and not gov this happens:

He added, “When DOGE fired me, they turned off my computer and wiped all of my files without warning.”

  • Wow

This idiot looks at a single database with completely unrealistic numbers and thinks that's all SSA was using to send checks, nevermind that I'm there are probably pools of tables, with multiple entries per SSN (ie, tracking name changes, address changes, etc...).

A part of me wants him to touch the stove, because a lot of people are tuned out.
This is what I've been messaging...They're looking at some sql extract from an ancient mainframe db that may even be hierarchical in nature and is making conclusions without even visiting the code... Its bullocks.

I need to win the power ball. If I win the power ball or super lotto or mega-million, I might then post some ads in "Soldier of Fortune Magazine", pursue my plan, and accept the risk and consequences.

But powerball or none -- this s*** cannot continue for much longer. At least the streets are filled in DC and elsewhere with outraged protesters.

This s*** cannot continue!

Protests are pointless. They go into the mental circular file. Unless you're talking about the other kind of protest, and that shouldn't be discussed on the open web. Seriously, you should monitor what you say. There isn't even an illusion of a free country anymore.

They aren't pointless when they get big enough and often enough. We just aren't even close to that. So far away from that.

Individual protests regardless of size can be invaluable for making connections for further organization.

General strikes are how you freeze out dictators and their collaborators. Thousands of people have to courageously put themselves in front of goons with guns and dare them to commit murder on camera. Not everyone can do that, but there's millions of us who can.

Any one individual person could walk up to any of these fascists shitbags and put them on their ass right now. The only power they have is the power we allow them to have. That's been true since before recorded history.

It doesn't take a lot of good people to cancel out terrible people, although collaborators will try to convince you otherwise. Don't take my word for it, just read the continued postings of collaborators trying to convince you that everything is OK, and even if it isn't, there's nothing you can do. They are lying, what a surprise.

In addition to what @nickqt said: protest isn't useless - it also lets people still on the inside know that the public may have their back and gives them a reason to stand up to illegal or immoral things. It also help weak-kneed legislators in government grow a fucking spine, and potentially help to flip majority legislators who are quiet but on the fence.

You should just send yourself to gitmo now.

There is also plenty of opportunity to do strategic protests. The civil rights movement didn't always have massive amounts of protesters, but they did do things strategically. Sitting at lunch counters, freedom rides, and some of the marches were designed to help to bring to light the absolutely immoral actions being done for state-sponsored segregation and sway the larger public opinion to your side.

The people on the inside who wouldn't stand up to Trump when he was just a citizen are going to grow a fucking spine now when he's king of the nation? Right.

This isn't that kind of moment.
The zealots do not care about money. They would see the world burn to balm their crazed hearts, currently filled with insatiable darkness.

The civil rights movement could exist and work to make change in a Liberal Democracy.
We are no longer those people, or that country.
You face fascist tyranny akin to Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, or Afghanistan.

To know thy enemy, look to their media. Look how they rage over each new "fraud" Elon produces. Listen to their media, such as News Max, speak of social security.
Their insanity will burn our country to the ground and in its ashes raise a new theocracy built on their new fairy tales.
This is no longer the land of Jesus. The Cheeto has supplanted him, false prophets and alt realities reign supreme.

Dictators fall and the GOP will be no exception. But I don't think you're going to see the energy to topple the regime until they end Medicare and Social Security and you have people dying in the streets of starvation. If Trump's smart enough he won't follow Elon off that cliff and will enjoy the riches he can already loot without pissing the people off too much.

We simply put the government workforce on Ozempic and watching it shrink down.

Just give it some time to play out. There are plenty of jobs in construction and farm labor.
