If the executive won't obey the courts and just does whatever he wants the compact between the government and its people is basically void. The ramifications of this will eventually become apparent and not in ways that people are going to like. The right assumes they will reap all the benefits here without any cost. I suspect that is a severe miscalculation.

The problem is that the executive also controls the military and likely has majority support of law enforcement all the way down to the local level. Is it 100%? Of course not, but a majority. More than enough to put down any unrest.

And something like th Insurrection Act is a legal, lawful order that the military would have to obey.

Once they take down or break something people actually care about shit gets real. They have some early 20-something recoding the Treasury's COBOL based payment system. The risks they are running all over the place basically assures something eventually big blows up very publicly and people get super pissed.

The problem is that the executive also controls the military and likely has majority support of law enforcement all the way down to the local level. Is it 100%? Of course not, but a majority. More than enough to put down any unrest.

There is not sufficient US military manpower to basically put the whole country under martial law. It's also not a foregone conclusion that everybody is going to obey those orders either. And again the country has almost more guns than people floating around it.

And something like th Insurrection Act is a legal, lawful order that the military would have to obey.

If the president starts telling the military to shoot Americans he doesn't like in the near future a lot of them are probably not just going to do that no questions asked. State governments could also move to seize military installations in their own states which would considerably complicate things.
