This is also why the responses to his trade war moves should be more than just retaliatory tariffs. Targeted countries need to bring the pain to the US.

The only reason to focus on taking over the payments system is because you have decided not to pay some people. The possibilities are pretty dire like he could just decide not to send any money to a zip code that didn't vote for Trump (as an extreme example). I think his intent is to seize the money machine and force trillions of dollars in immediate cuts and force the country into austerity, with no authority to do so whatsoever.

Opposition isn't even disorganized, it's almost entirely non-organized. And I'm guessing a lot of of opposition still haven't even thought about moving past their 1st Amendment "right", to their 2nd Amendment "right".
