The carefully managed water systems in California's Central Valley saw a sudden deluge after the Army Corps of Engineers unexpectedly released reservoir water. “In 25 years, I’ve never seen anything like this. I was given no explanation at all.”...bsky.app

Decision to dump water from Tulare County lakes altered after sending locals into a mad scramble – SJV Water
Water managers were relieved Thursday evening after the Army Corps of Engineers agreed to back off of a sudden decision earlier in the day to dump massivesjvwater.org
I guess this is what Trump meant when he was talking about turning the water back on in California. Except this was nowhere near the fires, and basically just dumping water that would have been needed later in the year for agriculture and whatnot. The Army Corps of Engineers is staffed by idiots, but it really just goes right up to the top. Really being lead around by the dumbest fucking assholes.
Trump says he opened California’s water. Local officials say he nearly flooded them.
The Army Corps of Engineers moved to release massive quantities of water in Central California, panicking local officials.
Trump - “Today, 1.6 billion gallons and, in 3 days, it will be 5.2 billion gallons. Everybody should be happy about this long fought Victory! I only wish they listened to me six years ago — There would have been no fire!”

So .... He poured 5 billion gallons of water down the drain (which would be of use to Central Valley farmers in the spring planting season, but not now) claiming it had something to do with fighting fires in Southern California. I’m fucking speechless.
We appear to be entering “Mad King Ludwig” territory at this point.
