I guess this is what Trump meant when he was talking about turning the water back on in California. Except this was nowhere near the fires, and basically just dumping water that would have been needed later in the year for agriculture and whatnot. The Army Corps of Engineers is staffed by idiots, but it really just goes right up to the top. Really being lead around by the dumbest fucking assholes.

Trump - “Today, 1.6 billion gallons and, in 3 days, it will be 5.2 billion gallons. Everybody should be happy about this long fought Victory! I only wish they listened to me six years ago — There would have been no fire!”

So .... He poured 5 billion gallons of water down the drain (which would be of use to Central Valley farmers in the spring planting season, but not now) claiming it had something to do with fighting fires in Southern California. I’m fucking speechless.

We appear to be entering “Mad King Ludwig” territory at this point.

Tommy Tuberville says that if your kids have ADHD, you should just beat them until they’re neurotypical, which I suppose is a sound idea if your goal is for your kid to grow up to be a serial killer.

Tuberville’s only qualification for Senate was as a mediocre college football coach who somehow won a few games against Alabama at the right time. Which, of course, the fine (sic) folk of Alabama equate with godhood, thereby sticking the rest of us with his poor facsimile of human intelligence.

I no longer consider the US an ally of Canada.

We came your aid, went to war, and Canadian's died for you. We send you water bombers and firefighters to help wildfires, the list goes on.

Adding a 25% tariff is a slap in the face to us all and everyone who died protecting the freedoms you once claimed to uphold.

And 47% of US voters are also dismayed, much like we were with GW Bush.

Down here in FL ... DeSantis is fighting with the Republican-controlled FL legislature because their immigration crackdown bill (called, of all things, the TRUMP Act) puts the Commissioner of Agriculture in charge of immigration enforcement instead of letting him appoint an immigration czar.

In other words, there are no heroes here. They are only fighting about what strategy inflicts the most human misery and suffering.

Ron's fundamental problem is he's an authoritarian control freak who is gearing up for another political run someplace while pretending to be the President Trump of FL. The legislature's problem is Big Sugar and the FL agriculture industries telling their reps if Ron takes their cheap immigrant labor away everything including their businesses and campaign donations go to hell.

DeSantis to Floridians: - "You have your marching orders"

Looks like goosestepping to me.

Fuck off Ron! if you are such a tough guy, try giving this anti-immigrant spiel in the south central agricultural belt of Florida instead of among the carpetbagger retirees in Destin FL. Once you kick them out are we going to get "marching orders" to help pick vegetables and cut sugar cane for the greater glory of El Supremo Trump next?

If you guys came and burned down the Capitol again I wouldn't be perturbed. Come through upstate NY on the way, we'll get pizza.

Pentagon Boots NBC, NPR, NYT, and Politico from Offices – To Be Replaced by Breitbart and OANN.

Right out of Moscow's playbook. Putin will be impressed. Trumps state run media! Working to eliminate "unfriendly" media. Sense of paranoia, mistrust of workers and need to control what the public sees and hears. Fascism coming to America. I never dreamed I'd see this day!

Yup, blinding the American people to what's happening is literally the first step. If those news agencies had half the testicular fortitude of those that founded them a century ago we wouldn't be in this state. But instead of doing anything about it, they'll continue to sell commercial slots for dick pills, shill books for rich assholes, and point out the bloody obvious on prime time.

It really seems to be becoming a "cloistered administration". and we are only 2 weeks in. Hmmm!

Closed off from the public, suspicious of its own employees, paranoid to the point of needing to cloak its actions. Shielding people from real news and pumping them full of propaganda is very "fascisty". For it to exist, a dumb, misinformed populace is required.

I wonder how the NYT will write about this! I guess sucking up to Trump didn't work out for them?

Everything that's happening is pretty much exactly what we knew Trump was going to do. There is nothing shocking or even surprising with each move.

He's been trying to get his hands on the master payment system of the US Treasury.

This is the scariest thing I have ever seen in my lifetime. He may have some partial clearance due to him having government contracts, but he has NOT been vetted by anyone outside of his cabal. This comes down from the top. A man who absconds with government secrets that are not in an approved container with a copy machine nearby has no clue as to why things are kept secret and TIGHTLY controlled.
We are in danger.

Israel is the only nation that should consider the shithole US as an ally.

Donald Trump has handed the federal government over to a ketamine addict weirdo who cannot pass a background check. That's what Americans wanted - some guy from another country getting complete control of the Treasury. Now we have a fake government agency staffed by an unelected and unappointed immigrant, which supposedly exists to promote "transparency", and he won't let the duly elected or appointed govt officials see what they're doing.

The information on these 2.2 million employees is being connected to other data sources Musk has access to so they can build a loyalty list. First thing. Cross reference all employees with state voter registries. Democrats and independents in blue states get culled. Republicans get vetted based on MAGA allegiance and social media viewpoints. Those remaining will have files built containing compromising information in case they get out of line. Those deemed most loyal will be shortlisted for advancement regardless of their intelligence or skills.

They're picking apart our government like a bunch of shit house rats going after a discarded quickie mart hot pocket. 250 years down the drain.

Trump is placing tariffs on Canada and Mexico, because they are taking advantage of us? Huh??

Wasn't Trump the one who signed the current trade agreement and declare that trade agreement the best agreement the world has ever seen?

He's a mentally ill narcissist. It's all about spectacle with him. Tough guy ratings, that's all that matters. He has no clue what he's doing. Trump seems to be crashing the economy on purpose?

MAGA pre 2025 - "Inflation BAD! it is the end of the world"

MAGA 2025 - "Inflation, who cares?"

Prices up!
Markets down!
Donald Trump is back in town!

This is going to be happening for the next 4 years
Markets tank
Trump changes his mind,
Markets bounce back,
Trump changes his mind,
Markets tank
Trump changes his mind.

But what are the Dems to do? Last few weeks of Harris campaign pushing the “garbage” narrative just hurt her more. Dems just aren’t allowed to dip their toe into the sewer sludge Repugnicans are swimming in

Yeah, I really don't know. I'm increasingly scared that this is what is going to happen here, as Starmer seems to be our version of Biden (just not as old). Recent polls have had Reform, the Conservatives, and Labour all level-pegging, which is not a good sign. Not surprising as Starmer and Reeves appear to be just slightly-watered-down hard-right Tories.

Find myself thinking the only way to fight right-wing populism is with left-wing populism. You don't oppose the xenophobia and social conservatism head-on, you change the topic and pick a different enemy for people to hate and blame - the rich. Fight a class-war.

Trump may be making some enemies if he kicks out MSM and replaces them with right wing propaganda machines. A lot of people won't be willing to suck on the putrid tit of Fox, Breitbart and OANN. There's going to be RESISTANCE! RESISTANCE!

Unfortunately, nothing is going to happen unless some really bad FINDING OUT happens to the people who voted for him.

The USAID website just disappeared. Chris Murphy’s warning about Trump unilaterally usurping authority from Congress was spot on. He is eliminating an agency with its own Congressional appropriations budget so that said budget can be subsumed by State.
