I wonder if Trump genuinely believed Elon would find trillions in wasteful spending, and that plus tariffs would be enough to compensate for the tax cuts.

Was it just bullshit campaign promises, or did he actually think this would work out? And if he did genuinely believe trillions would be found, how much of his “strategy” was contingent on that?

Of course he believed as did his economic advisors. The fact that they didn’t find enough “waste” won’t stop them from trying to pass that massive tax cut though.

The latina delegation of the leopards eating faces brigade are very mad:

A co-founder of a group for Latinas who support Donald Trump has excoriated the president on some of the immigration-related arrests being carried out by his administration, which she called “unacceptable and inhumane”.

In a statement posted on X over the weekend, Ileana Garcia wrote: “This is not what we voted for.”

I don't think he cared at all whether or not it was true, he just knew it sounded good and wanted to be President again so he could grift and not face justice.

He does not care and has never cared.

His goals are:
1) Stay out of prison
2) Self-enrichment
3) Self-aggrandizement
4) Revenge (related to #3)
5) Find a way to fuck Ivanka

That is all.

I just saw that Trump publicly praised his response to the protests in Cali. I think most would agree you shouldn't praise yourself, and it's in pretty poor taste considering how shit in Cali got about 10x worse thanks to him calling in armed troops to deal with what started as mostly peaceful protesting.

Seeing how it's worse than before he got involved, praising yourself for making a situation way worse seems about as Trump as you can get.

I think it mattered little, doge was the quid pro quo for the 300 million campaign donation...

I think the real question is what the fuck was Elon up to???

Yesterday, Trump signed a “Presidential Permit” authorizing the construction of a border crossing in Texas. The weird thing is that there is no such thing as a Presidential Permit. The “permit” says that the company building the crossing has to comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations so the company has to go through the regular process anyway. Trump’s action is weird political theater.
