Optimize Windows XP for coreduo

I was wondering if there was any optimizations I could do in windows xp pro sp2 for my new e6400. I did a fresh install and have installed all of the updates, just seeing if there was anything else to squeeze the last bit of power out of this chip 🙂

thanks

There are a couple hotfixes designed to fix some dual-core issues with XP, but that's about all I can remember. It was just stuff like synchronizing the timestamps between the processors, etc. If you want to get more power out of it, use SMP-aware apps or utilize multiple programs simultaneously. Even if tasks like displaying windows were to be processed by both CPUs I doubt you'd notice a difference. You'd have to actually be doing work, so it's doubtful you'd see any improvement from Windows and its fast internal functions being effectively multi-threaded.
