Optical Illusion

I find that each time I first view the image I see it spinning in a clockwise motion. Only when I look at the shadow of the silhouette does the direction of spin change.

What?s really annoying is trying to get it to spin back in the opposite direction once your eyes have settled on the current direction of spin.

She's only spinning clockwise, what the fuck are you people smoking?</end></div>

It?s an optical illusion.

There?s no right answer.

Hmm.

I'm the guy that can't ever get those hidden 3D images either, so *shrug*

Most can see the image rotate in either direction even though the images are running thru the animated gif the same way all the time. A darned good illusion.

"CKent finally saw her spin counterclockwise."
"Really?!"

I can't for the life of me see it spinning counter clockwise. Is there supposed to be more to the shadow because all I see is part of the feet?

COOL! I just saw it spinning both ways. In fact, I even saw it change directions! Weird! No, im not smoking anything. On the other hand, can you confirm that the gif is actually not rigged?

I found a very easy way to get it to rotate counter clockwise. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen until all of the girl's sillohuette is hidden and only the shadow shows. Cover some of the beginning of the shadow as well. Now its very easy to imagine the girl spinning the other way. Once you have that in your mind, scroll back up and it will have reversed!!! WTF???!

Takes a little practice - both ways definitely.
Had to check that it wasn't a gif made to go backwards and forwards.

Secret to is to watch the image, get to know the rhythm, close your eyes, then open them when the arms are inline with the body, so you can't see the arms,

Frick that's a mindf*ck.

I first always see her counterclockwise.

Then if i turn away & look back at her shadow first i can usually see her clockwise...but it's kinda random how i can see both.

fuck yeah! I get to see a pendulum of her spinning both ways after trying for 5 minutes. I closed and opened the window and then saw adifferent spin every time

I stared at her for a long time and the rotation did not change. I then minimized the windows and opened her back up again and she was rotating the other way.

You can train yourself to go back and forth in her rotation by concentrating on her shadow.

i think you guys are all slow or extremely tired. looked at it and after 5 mins i can tell you whats happening. the image does indeed change. one moment her right leg is up and then it switches to teh left leg being up and that makes it seems as if shes going counter clockwise.

Dude, I did the same thing. I mimic'd her using my fingers and all of a sudden she went the opposite way.

I wonder if I can open this in Imageready..

First I saw her spinning counter-clockwise. After 30 sec I could see clockwise, and then I could concentrate and have her switch direction after a few seconds. Pretty cool animation!
