opteron 165 retail $297 at mwave

its a good price, but its been this price before, i got my opty 165 for $265.00 + $8.00
shipping

good deal if you want the 3 year warranty and retail heatsink.

Hmm...heck of a price and thats my next purchase as well! Really curious what stepping they are shipping at that price though.

NP. I ordered yesterday, so I hope to get it by Friday. BTW, they have a new OEM for $265 as well. I was REALLY tempted by it, but went retail instead, even though I already have a XP90 for it and will be OCing (obviously). I guess I felt it was worth $30 to get retail anyway. I hope this was the best decision over a 3800+ x2 or 3700+...

Shipping is $7-$8, so $305 shipped is a great price for a retail opteron 165. Couldn't find a better price anywhere but ebay, and I'll spend the extra $15 to get it from a reputable online retailer.

FYI, mine was shipped yesterday but FedEx says estimated delivery is Monday. 🙁 I will let everyone know then. BTW, I may need some help OCing this thing, so expect me to ask for it. MSI Neo4 SLI mobo and 2GB OCZ platinum DDR400. 🙂
Now, I will need to download some drivers/patches for dual core, correct?

MSI Neo 4 SLI mobo with the latest bios. Isn't there a windows driver too? I am going to look a little, but I heard there is a modded bios for the msi board that gives you more memory divider options...

Thanks man, I think I might go with a dual core opteron over the single core one now, but I can't decide to get the oem one or the retail one?
