Opteron 146/148/150+165/170/175 Mega Coupon Sale Again @ MONARCH

Ordered my 146 on Monday and it still says processing order. But I'm waiting it out, for less than a 3200+ I can't pass that up.

To their credit , I had my 165 in less than about a week, but I did pay for 2nd day fedex on that one.

Its no telling where the Conroe price point will be when it hits the street later this year. I saw a comparison to the Intel Extreme Edition chips. If its that kind of price, forget it. I venture to say that there are few if any avid AT hot deal watchers out there running an P4 EE chip. Like oil and water, AT'ers and expensive chips (heck, expensive anything) just don't mix well together.

OEM packaging versus USED!

I'm pretty used to OEM CPUs coming with a minumum of packaging butt...

My Opteron 165 OEM CPU looks like it still has some Arctic Silver on it and the little plastic box it came in was taped closed with Scotch tape.

If it arrived looking clean and shiny and the same plastic box was sealed with tamper proof tape or something more official looking, I wouldn't have thought twice.

How was your CPU packated.

Ive definitely never seen a used oem from monarch before lol. Ive bought many oems from them, they all looked brand new to me. Weird.

Also, all the oem plastic cartridges are taped shut with scotch tape. Thats how all mine were. That means nothing.

You'll be lucky if you get it by the end of next week if you just ordered. I ordered on Sunday and it still hasn't shipped. My first and last order from Monarch.

I guess I was pretty lucky with my opty 165. Ordered, it was shipped next day got it within 3 days. Packed in a clean plastic box and was brand new for sure. I had problem with monarch once before as they didnt like my address with the road name having W at the begging instead of at the end.

you people are way too whiney. You are getting the best deal possible for a killer CPU and all you do is whine about slow shipping. WTF do you expect when a business gets
slammed like this for a hot deal?!? Besides, if you actually READ any of the monarch threads, you would realize that with all their business they are getting backed up.

I think same day shipping from Newegg and ZZF have spoiled this lot...so I suggest you go buy from them at an inflated price. To me, 1 week with a chip is NOT worth 50+ of
my hard earned dollars....but I guess I work harder for my money than some of you do.

The only problem with Monarch is they show stuff "in stock" when they are out of stock so people are expecting things right away. If the inventory was more up to date then people would expect delays.

Other than that, they are fine.

Uh, you're entitled to your opinion but I think you're dead wrong. There's no excuse for taking several days to process an order and a week to ship. If a company can't handle the business they shouldn't take on so much. Otherwise their reputation and ratings will suffer. If you look at their reviews on Pricegrabber you'll see they've slipped in the past 6 months and moreso in the past month. Gee, I wonder why?

For what it's worth, both ZZF and NewEgg have the same Opteron 170 I got at Monarch for $375 for $400. That's $25, not $50+ and hardly inflated considering they're 2nd and 3rd cheapest on Pricegrabber. I'm not in a hurry so I chose Monarch and the $25 savings.

Monarch gets slow because they have the best prices and get slammed with orders. If youre not comfortable with that, by all means go pay more elsewhere. Also many pay tax on zzf/newegg like me, so its actually a bigger margain than that for some. Only this last 146 ive ordered had a 3 day delay, other than that, all my previous orders ship out within a day or two.

If you advertise "ships in 1-2 days", at the very latest you should receive it...

1 day for processing
2 days ships out
7 days to receive.

10 days at the very worst case scenario which is still piss poor IMO. And, they zap your credit card right away which is crapola. I ordered early Wednesday morning. If it isn't processed by tomorrow noon, they can go get fvcked. HIRE SOME DAMN PEOPLE MONARCH or at least give us the straight poop on when we can expect to receive our orders. This is getting ridiculous....

Used or not (probably not), my Opteron165 went right to 9x280@1.37 Volts with no effort so I'm happy.

Monarch just added and "refreshed" many coupons. Ill update thread in a bit. You can check out the link to hardocp to get them as well. For the most part just refreshed the coupons again. Added a bunch of coupons for socket 940 optys as well.

Of course the good ol 165 coupon is valid again as well.

Nice... I checked my bank account online this morning and see yesterday Monarch charged my CC for the order I cancelled on Wednesday. I even got an Email from them verifying that my order was to be cancelled and they charged my card anyway. It had better not ship because I'm not paying shipping on something I canceled. They may have good prices but it seems like one hand doesn't know what the other is doing.
