Opinions on Hillary Clintons supposed run for President

Hillary this Hillary that...
Quite frankly Hillary has so much excess luggage shes already dead in the water!
Just look at the recent news headlines.
Then she has as a husband that joke of a former President William whats his name?

For the Democrats to win the presidency they really will need to and should already be thinking outside the Box.....

Mind you this is just my opinion but I truly believe the Democrats have only one hope if they want to capture or wrestle the presidency from the Republicans....

That person would be Barack OBama!!

I believe that things are so fudged up that it is time to seriously consider a man of color for the Presidency!!

He appears to be a class act every where he goes. He seems to have his finger on the pulse of his constituents in his home state....

Very possibly the time has come to have a colored President.
Maybe its not the time yet but we need to be seriously considering this man iether in the next election for President or in the one after that.

Mind you these are just my observations.
I for one see nobody besides this man who the Dem`s can throw at the republicans and win!!

No.

Senators.

Former Gov. Mark Warner will be the main Democratic candidate come '08. Others will enter the fray but you'll likely not see any Senators. Obama's only saving grace is that he's a freshman Senator. That said, he's been rather quiet since his election. I don't see him as running for President.

If nothing else, she is taking the focus off of whoever the Dem's do run and I personally think she would make a great VP canidate on the Dem ticket.

I mean who else to can get the NeoCon's panties in a bunch better then a CLinton? LMAO

I had a co worker who was a total conservative republican---but he was a decent sort and we could discuss politics without either of us frothing at the mouth.

But it just came as a total shock to him that everyone did not gut deep hate Hillary Clinton--and this was during the Bill Clinton Presidency. As far as I am concerned, Hillary doe not impress me that much--but neither did Bill Clinton---but either would be infinitely preferrable to a total idiot like GWB.

But right now Hillary seems to try to walk a tightrope centrist position--and worse yet failed to see
what a diaster Iraq would become so she supported the invasion. To boot she carries many negatives and something like a 40% disapproval rating.

In 08 the dems will almost have to run someone who did not support the Iraq war--after all they ran Kerry and look what a diaster that turned out to be---who had to maintain silence rather than rip into Bush on Iraq.

That narrows the field considerably------mainly State govornors or congressmen or women not in office when congress should have given a firm thumbs down to Bush insteard of the rubber stamps they became.

But for now, the Democrats best selling point is and remains GWB. Until a candidate steps up and is
willing to be the anti-Bush---- and can articulate the voice of theAmerican people--the race is wide open.

OTOH, who can unify the opposition moreso than Hilary? She's highly polarizing and doesn't really 'change the map' from what Kerry had.

Yesterday a colleague who is a Russian immigrant asked me if I thought the US was ready to elect a woman president. My response was, "Yes, but there isn't a woman who is ready to be president."

I would tend to agree with you. But with that said.....peer pressure can be a tough thing to ignore...

Except in my scenario she's running for VP, not President and she's a woman.

i think you are wrong to say that thinking outside of the box is going to help democrats..they tried that already and it got them totally booted out of the goverment

Any word on his Iraq war stance?

Wow. Mark Warner had a 74% approval rating when he left office as governor of Virginia. That's pretty impressive, not to mention that he's a democrat in a red-state.

Virginia is very red in the South, very blue in the north. My gun-toting, church-going, Republican father-in-law from southern VA liked him just fine.

I would consider voting for her - why not, she could run against this legacy of the failed GWB presidency and Clinton nostalgia. She would need to carry all of the "Kerry States." and pick up either Ohio or Florida. Or she could go with a Southwest strategy and aim for Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada with Richardson as a VeeP. Of course it would depend on who the Republicans nominate as I am fairly confident she will win the nominee barring some major missteps. I just have some doubts whether she can win the general. I think she's fine but I am not sure if enough people will agree.
I don't know enough about the other candidates except to say that Warner could carry Virginia, Bayh could carry Indiana, and Richardson is a lock in New Mexico, and Vilsack in Iowa, if they are the nominee. However of those, I think Warner and Bayh could develop into the alternate choice to Hillary.

Apparently he always did really well in the rural areas. It sounds like a Warner/Baye ticket would be great.

Is Mark Warner the "There's a better way" guy?

No, that was the guy that replaced him. You cannot be governor for consecutive terms in Virginia.

I think that's the way it ought to be for federal offices like the presidency, senate, and reps. Run one term and you're out for good. It would get rid of these lifers like Kennedy and McCain who are more beholden to Mexico and big corporate interests than America.
