Opinions on graphic card upgrade addiction

I can totally relate to the sentiments in this thread. Computers are my main hobby and I always feel like I need to get the latest and greatest. I'm also a deal monger so I generally buy the low-end of the high-end if that makes sense (2600k instead of 3960k). I only game about 10hrs a week at most so sometimes I scratch my head at why I have all this money invested in my computer.

On the other hand, I think it's good for people to be able to offer service to each other. When friends are having computer issues, I love being able to help them. And if I didn't have new hardware to play with I would probably lose interest in computers thus cutting off the ability to help with a wide range of problems. There are some positive benefits to hobby's besides our own personal satisfaction.
