i never got the hair-in-the-eyes style. it seems whenever i see someone with bangs cut like that they are constantly battling to get the hair out of their line of vision.
do you part your hair in the middle now or on the side? parting on the side would be a nice change if you aren't already there.

Just say NO to bangs.
I see girls with those cuts (pictured in the OP) and I'm mystified as to why they want to ruin their looks. There is nothing attractive about it. They look like crap with a shaggy fringe in their eyes. They could be attractive without those nasty bangs but it's hard to tell.
The kind that sweep off to one side can work though.

my sis-in-law has this gorgeous curly hair and she painstakingly blowdries it straight every.single.day. she doesn't like the curls. i would love to have them.

You could still do the ponytail with that style. Pull the ponytail through the hole in the back of a baseball cap when you want to be lazy and look hot.
