Youtube (IGN has same resolution for video)

This is going to be an awesome game. The Soldiers, Weapons, Tanks, Planes, Choppers, Trees, Grass are all models that are 100% in-game. However, since the game is still in early production, the effects/animations/motion blur are in CGI. However, Codemasters aim's to hit home with this game as much as possible.

Codemasters didn't make "Turning Point" so have no fear as to the quality of this game. Operation Flashpoint 2 has over 70 artists working full time, a military advisory team, and about 120 people working in all. This is Codemaster's biggest project yet. Bigger than GRID/DIRT and their other games from years past.

OFP2 will be at E3 in a few days. :)

Edit: for those who say "this will never be like the final game", I advise you to check this GRID CGI trailer. Youtube link The game came out pretty close to this.

As long as this doesn't turn into super halo with real guns I'm going to buy it!

Looks a lot better then ArmA too...

I try not to get too hyped up about games that look good. I've been disappointed too many times now :(

Hopefully it'll be worth buying though.

If they keep true to the original OFP like they say they are. I have no worries what so ever. Well maybe one - an actual in-game video would be nice.

I really liked the original OFP, and those screen shots look good. But I'd also like to see some in-game video. I gave up on ArmA after I couldn't get the demo working (it just kept crashing) and I read some really disappointing opinions about the actual gameplay. Is there any word when this might be released?

Edit: Finally got in to the OFP2 website, it says coming in 2009. and seems that some video is coming there too.

the original was nice but HAAARD, it was definitely realistic. I found it much harder than any of the Rainbow 6 games, and a few of those stressed me out. I will be if nothing else following this one closely.

Have no fear about the quality? Codemasters needs to quit hyping renders and start showing some real substance - we haven't seen anything legitimate yet.

I have high hopes and low expectations. I can't shake the feeling that OFP2 is going to be one hell of a shiny turd.

Yeah, these are all frickin renders. Do you think the xbox 360 is going to be able to handle that?

The reason I suggested not to worry was simple: Codemasters has already used CGI to promote other games, that have turned out graphically quite like the final game. For example, GRID: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/30610.html

About it being able to play Xbox360: I hope it lags like hell and causes the system to crash over and over. Thus more PC players potentially :)

About E3: Woops, I mistook the trailer release date as the E3 starting date.

I think it won't lag like hell, because those are just renders. I wish codemasters released some actual screenshots, like Armed Assault 2's dev team did, and hell, they look pretty decent, compared how crap the previous one did.

No worries about E3, I wish it was tomorrow.

Well at least Codemasters is releasing something. Since release is next year and they have stated that (even though they've been working on this for a while now) its very early in production and theres not much to show - at least they are giving us something to drool over while we wait for them to complete enough of the game to show us a snippet ;)

LOL. The movie was 100% rendered. Not a representation of true in-game graphics at all.

I LOVED OFP1, I hope this game doesn't disappoint. I still remember that special ops mission where you're suppose to sneak in and plant C4 in a tank depot. Rather than planting the C4, I just stole a tank, ran over all the guards, blasted the remaining tanks, stole a Hind, flew to the extraction point and bailed out over it.

As long as it has a single player portion better than Armed Assault; worst campaign ever. Hope modders are back on to make another Evolution mod for co-op.

SERIOUSLY! My heart pumped so much blood during a few of the missions. I was out in the middle of no where, alone and every thing was out there looking for me. This game really made it feel realistic...

After I finally beat it, I lost track of all the part 2s and expansions on it.

I will definately look into this one :)

Graphics are the least of my worries, especially because Codemasters keeps pumping out these rendered stills and movies - you know it's going to look good or they wouldn't be drawing attention to it like this.

My concerns are all about gameplay. Again, I'll reserve judgement until I actually have my hands on the game but it's worrying how much fluff marketing they're dumping for this game without showing any real material.

I loved the original, but I couldn't get past one of the missions so I never did beat it. I have wanted to go back and play it many times (hopefully beat it this time), but I can't find the disk for the life of me. I hope that this new game is as realistic feeling and difficult (to get the blood going again) as the first. I would love that.

OFP1 was a blast, hard to beat though. I was stuck half way and finally gave up on this game. My favorite mission was to sneak to the base, but instead of doing it, I just sat on the hill sniping soldiers between barracks. The mission always ended with me dieing when they would dispatch patrols to comb the area where I was hiding.

I hate to be negative but there is no way the final game will come anywhere near that trailer. That is Crysis x 10. Well maybe not times 10 but way ahead.I would love a war game (or any game) to have animation that realistic and fluid.

Thats what game makers need to work on most is in game animation, that still has a long long way to go.

Hopefully im wrong and the game looks and plays exactly like that.

I think the biggest concern is that the game is also being released for the consoles. Gameplay can easily get dumbed down, or tossed out of the window completely.

What happened to the tactical Tom Clancy's Series, Rainbow 6, Ghost Recon, they're rubbish.

Partly Ubisoft's fault, mostly porting to a bunch of 12 year olds who have no idea what tactics means, the other.

I think consoles are just a cheap scape goat when games get " dumbed down ".Simple games are what usually sell best regardless of platform. Its Why the battlefield series have sold millions and Arma has sold about 6 copies.Just because something is simple or easy to play doesnt mean its bad or worse off.

Most people want pick up and play games with little to no learning curve.Look at the 2 biggest games on PC,WoW and The Sims. The majority of PC gamers want what most of you would consider dumbed down games.Unfortunate, but true.
