Opera or Firefox?

No dice, Anubis.

The reload button does change to a stop button during a page load, but that's no good when you're trying to stop an animated gif or midi music playing.

I've got the text size OK, but it's certainly not convenient.

Depending on the version

File --> Quick preferences ... Uncheck enable sound in web pages , and enable GIF animation.

In 7.5 beta

Replace file with Tools

This stuff isn't hard to find guys 😛
 
Obviously, Opera ain't worth the trouble. From the pain in the ass, burried text size option, to the fvcked up display of this forum, and missing stop button ( disabling sound and animated Gifs in ALL pages is your idea of a fix? :roll: ), I've got no need for this fiasco!

I don't think it's a PITA.

Text size, I just used the zoom. Bad eyesight anyway.

Forum looks fine.

Honestly, how often do you even LOOK at them?

Besides... why WOULDN'T you want to disable sound on all pages?
 
I'm using 7.23, and it's fvcked up! And, I'll be the judge of what plays and what doesn't on MY PC, not turn off everything because of a deficiency of some lame browser, that's a 'solution' to a problem I DON'T have!

lol. Opera blows. Firefox however is pretty good. Dunno if I'd use it over IE though.

The centered forum post... I've never seen that. Mine go all the way to the right border.

Well, I've used Firefox exclusively for a week, but it just failed to stop a million popups even though I have the option checked. There are going to be times when someone deliberately posts a malicious link like that, and I expect my browser to do what it's supposed to do. At least killing the Firefox process killed all of the popups. I would have expected the popups to open up in the main window as well, not behave like IE(don't see a way of setting this as the default). I'm done testing Firefox and going back to Opera.

Aside from that, there are only a couple aspects of Firefox I don't like. I downloaded easyGestures, but Opera's mouse gesture system is still far better(as in less fluff and it does what I want faster). I suppose easyGestures could be changed, but right clicking a link should default to the standard menu. When I go back or forward, Firefox reloads the page rather than using the cache. I didn't find a setting to change this. I think Opera's password manager is also superior. Firefox has a nicer look and a lot of potential for expansion, but I found myself missing Opera functionality. Anyway, the popup thing pretty much decides it.
 
Are you sure about the pop up blocking. I often have to turn it OFF for certain sites as it is a little too nazi like on them damn popups. I'd rather that then all the popups though.

what site did you go to? And yes, the password manager needs work, it's been an ongoing issue since phoenix 🙂.
 
Firefox, or any recent Mozilla-based browser. In my experience, a lot more complete CSS2 and DOM2 javascript support.

In fact, in this respect Mozilla browsers are even far beyond IE.
 
Sheesh, all the pirates too cheap to pay for their favorite browser. At least with FireFox you don't have to "purchase" anything.
