CadetLee babbled: AOL web mail? Dang, man...maybe you *should* stick with IE.
I was checking my g/f's account for her cuz she's got the flu and didn't go into work today.
What's IE's file size? What's Opera's file size? There you have it - maybe that's why Opera doesn't haven automatic plugin detection thingy.
Gee...if you're what's in our military now, then maybe we shouldn't invade Iraq.
Hey, Brainiac - hit Alt+P to open Preferences, select Multimedia, go to the second area called "Media types" and click the "Find plug-ins..." button. Watch it scan and associate a ton of stuff with QuickTime, etc.
Why can't this be automatic? Why are you making excuses for sloppy design?
On to bsr: For one I wasnt trying to insult your inteligents.
Do you mean "intelligence"? Of course, you immediately contradict yourself with...
if you dont understand it then dont use it, no one is forcing you to use it.
I was able to figure out how to manually set up the proxies to get around my company's firewalls and autoconfig scripts, but as you twerps don't want to acknowledge, the MM handling is a fvcking joke!
Geek snobs like you get all Jeff K. at times like these, but you miss the point: People will not abandon so-so products (in your opinion) like AOL or M$ apps when they've got to jump thru hoops to get BASIC SH!T to work!!! The fact that Opera is trying to be a $39 product makes it all the more a failure compared to other browsers that are free.
Get over yourselves and look at the Big Picture - it's not about you're childish needs to be superior on a BBS, it's about REAL COMPETITION for established market leaders and Opera is FAILING. People will try it, see it's half-baked and half-assed and then stick with bad ol' IE, cuz at least IT WORKS AS ADVERTISED!!!
But, what do you care? You're l337 h4X0r3z and get a little thrill flaming people with honest questions about products.
(Now, you'll excuse me, but I've got to move to Canada, cuz the Air Force has clearly done away with any sorts of standards in who they let in and it shouldn't be long before Grand Fenwick invades.)
