Haven't seen anyone answer your question. Stability mode would be for when you want to purposefully stress the card, perhaps to check your cooling scheme, or do a burn-in after a new build. Its effective, 30 minutes of stability mode got my BFG 8800 GT up to 92c. Normal idle is 57c, and Quake4 never got it much over 77c.

BTW, if anyone was wondering, 😛 this runs like a champ on Linux under Wine. I tried it on a lark, and it fired right up and flew straight on the first try.

In any case, my numbers are:

Default res: 2423 oMarks
1680x1050: 2307 oMarks

I think these are the first Linux numbers in this thread.

well, it was more than a minute, but with clocks at 860/2662 I got 3294 at default 1280x1024 0AA. at native res of 14x9 I got 4150 🙂

ATI Radeon HD 3870

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz

Windows XP build 2600 [Service Pack 2]

Sapphire Radeon 3870@ 860/2601 stable as heck.
Fan @60% Highest temp was 63C

Fan runs 30% stock and any real overclocking results in 90C.

2328 @ 1280 x 1024 (default)
2226 @ 1650 x 1050
884 @ 1650x1050 8XAA

Whats with me getting higher than some of the people with higher PC specs (higher CPU and faster GPU) with default settings? Buggy benchmark?

First off, I just want to say... that's a very cool benchmark. I ran the benchmark on the system specified in my signature.

I overclocked my HD2900XT from 743/1000 to 875/1250 and this is what I got.

Score: 2076 o3Marks

Oh yeahhhh... lol

Again, there is no hope for GeForce in this benchmark, if AMD get Crossfire to work anywhere near SLI's efficiency. Until then SLI makes Nvidia a winner ... but an empty win that is. I especially like this is an OpenGL benchmark, where Nvidia usually dominates.

I just re-ran the test on my systems; with the default setting in the FUR rendering bench

9800gx2 scored a 3093 - FPS min 41/max 67 Avg 52
4850 crossfire scored 5328- FPS min 64/max 119 Avg 92

What I find interesting is that in OpenGL only a single 4850 is working at 99%, the other is 2 or 3.%...

pfft ati... 😛

Heh, I must have an all time low record (currently with backup video card)

138 Marks!

That's at 1280x1024, 0xAA.

Yeah, this card is terrible! 😀

I swapped processors on my two systems and re-ran the test with the default setting in the FUR rendering bench

9800gx2 scored a 3127 - FPS min 43/max 67 Avg 52 (e8400)
4850 crossfire scored 5274- FPS min 71/max 120 Avg 88 (q6600)
