From what i could understand from what drag said, the memory size is varied so at least firefox doesn't use so much memory that it slows the machine to a crawl.

I rebooted and launched firefox with a mostly blank local page - 20MB. I went to the forums home page and it jumped up to 26MB immediately. It went to about 27MB as I type this.

For the sake of memory usage, you can link this with the Bohem-Weiser Garbage collector to have it cleanup the memory leak before it gets out of hand. Of course that's kinda hard to do unless you're into compiling source.

And it has increased to 29MB now without opening any more tabs, just refreshing it a few times over 4 or 5 minutes.

Now up to 31MB since the last post without doing anything else. Strange.
