I woke up to chocolates on my mousepad this morning...my husband is a very tough act to follow🙂

Little do you know, he was eating those chocolates while surfing porn on your computer, and forgot to put them away when he was done. 😱

if he wants to surf for porn he can do so on the system I bought him,it's a dual monitor setup.. so nice try but no cookie for you🙂

no....not with me. I do have one friend that it could work for. They are both very sexually liberal...i guess u could call them swingers.

Also, the idea is quite insulting on a lot of levels to the spouse,it's like saying "honey,I love you when I'm sick,or my laundry needs washing but when it comes time for passion and fun, well, you're on your own"

Sorry but if I'm down for all the bad stuff in a relationship then I'd best be first choice to participate in the fun stuff or we are all done.
I agree with you, but I think that's a mischaracterization of how these things usually work; I think the typical reason couples do this is because their sex drives are very different. It's not "I don't want you for passion," it's "I want you for passion every day but you only want it once a month -- let's find a way to not get on each other's nerves." Of course, I don't think an open relationship is the solution, but it looks like a good idea on paper. I'm reminded of something Voltaire said: All sins come from two major faults: laziness or impatience. (Or words to that effect. Hey, isn't this in someone's sig on ATOT?)

I've been around awhile and whenever I've heard of people I know choosing open marriage 9 times out of ten it was a guy proposing the plan, guys who were too cheap to hire a hooker and too cowardly to either live up to his vows or divorce convincing his low self-esteemed wife that he should have a get out of jail free card to bang radom women.

Heck no. My wife and I were having a n odd conversation about hot Hollywood stars/athletes and she told me that if I ever get the chance, to go ahead and have sex with them. That said, just thinking about how I would react if she ever did that, i am sure I would turn down such a chance.

:cookie: denied 🙁

It's just like everything else in life...it can & does work for some people but it's not for everyone. I personally could not be in an "open marriage", I'm just not wired that way.

My wife and I did it for a while, and we got tired of it. We realized that for the most part, other people really irritate us. The reason we're married is that we're perfect for each other, and anybody who isn't us just gets annoying after a while. The people we would date on the side also tended to get clingy.

We still have the occasional threesome (my wife is quite happy to bring a woman in with us) so we still have our fun. But as far as something extramarital on our own, we've simply lost interest.

What if she brought another man in???

We've done that. We both have more fun with another woman though.
