yep. I intentionally stuck with IE6 because I hate tabs.

Tab, unless I want to see the two pages side by side.

Side question: Is there a way to open a link in a new tab without right clicking it and selecting 'open in new tab'? (Firefox)

Middle-click FTW!!

Doesn't work for me
there whould be an option for "open all links in a new tab" somplace

I have that selected and links do open in a new tab, but that tab is on top. When I right click and choose 'open in new tab' it keeps the current tab on top and opens the new tab behind. This is useful for opening a bunch of picture links or anything that you expect will be slow to load.

use opera it always puts them behind

I use Opera too, middle click open new tab under comes standard.

I'm using both nowadays, but find myself using Tab more. It's probably just habbit that I still open stuff in new windows since the Tab is a newer feature and I'm still getting use to it.

I prefer to view as much at a time on a page as possible and having the tab bar at the top cuts into what I can see.

Honestly, that extra 20 pixels or so doesn't make that much difference...

I almost unconsciously sort out my windows. If it's the same subject/site, it's a new tab. If it's a different subject/site, it's a new window.

new window, I want to see all windows at the same time. Tabs are annoying because you have to alternate between them and this defeats the purpose of multitasking.

Tab, duh.

Why would you use a tabbed-browser and open pages in a new window?

control click also works if you don't have a middle button, or have it bound to something else like I do.

Leros, you can do like they've stated, or go into the Options menu and choose the 'Tabs' tab along top and then in there you'll see an option to auto open any clicked link to a new tab. That's how I roll. All new pages go into the same window, so sometimes I'll have like.. 30 tabs. lol
Every now and then I'll be doing something different and want a little more organization, so say.. school research will get a new window all it's own, and that new window will sometimes accumulate quite a few tabs of its own. :D

edit:
better instructions
Tools > Options > Tabs > 'New pages should be opened in:' ---> Choose 'a new tab'
:)

Opera + Tabs + Tiled

Text is cut off each individual tile, that doesn't work for me. Again, defeats the purpose of reading multiple websites simultaneously.

i don't get it. so if you're looking at a website about cars, you can open a new tab if it is about cars but you need a new browser if you switch to a site on airplanes?

If I'm neffing, and decide for some reason or other I want to research the history of the unicycle, I'll open a new window and constrain my unicycle related research to that window. If that leads me to boning up on famous circus performers and where they are now and how I can obtain post-prime-career footage, I'll do that in yet another window.
