Open or broken ground? Are there obstacles? How large is the attacker? What type of ammunition? There are a nearly infinite amount of variables.

You forgot:

At 30 feet, I'd say you have a chance to make - one - shot unless you had already drawn and were covering the target.

Mythbusters did an episode on this exact scene. Watch it sometime. :)

Lot of problems with their test.
1. It's quite clear Adam hasn't trained in drawing and firing. It's not reflexive and he's slow.
2. They require him to manually chamber his gun, which takes the bulk of his time. Virtually no one does this, and people who actually practice the Israeli draw can do it much faster.
3. There are never any followup shots. Against a charge by a knife wielding adversary that close, I'm going to be mag-dumping.

In reality a knife is a lot better right up in close.

Also in reality most of the times an ax is a lot better than a sword.

Swords look glamorous. But a proper ax with a point on the top has such a mass plus a handle that provides quite a bit of shielding.

In the end, if someone came here and I had to run back inside to come back out to fight them; it would be with a 911 call and then my pistol.

That said it's a bit rare I am not carrying my knife.
Have to go with what you brought.

It's rare I'm not carrying a pistol.

I wouldn't like to knife fight him D^:

Check out his site. It's... Something... :^D

based on the one blurry pic you posted of yourself, I'd say it's a close match to you.

Plus like yourself he is a wizard to!

LOL! Two replies! That really burned your ass, didn't it? Go to your girlfriend (Mr Ed) and cry on her shoulder, you poor, fat, retarded, ugly freak. :p

I've seen it practiced lots... assuming a holstered gun and reasonable skill with it you'll probably get 1-3 shots off BUT there's no guarantee that they will incapacitate the assailant. CNS shots can never be counted on under stress.

I find the elaborate nature of some of his techniques to be a bit silly, also. But I'm also quite certain he would murder the shit out of you if he felt the need.

Before he could fist pump his knife out he would be missing a hand and have a 6.5" blade in his neck. His movements are very inefficient, lots of swoopy swoopy and back and forth jerky...for show. Lots of wasted movements/energy and lots of openings. His demonstrations were all against unarmed/unarmored targets. Even then he was content to give them cute tattoos instead of putting them down quickly.

I'm sure if I let him remove that stupid curved blade first he could do some damage to me, but he mostly targets non vital areas. And "pecking" at me with that retarded curved blade isn't going to stop me. I would post pictures and such but it has been made clear the mods don't want details of this nature. Arms/back/torso can take massive damage and not slow you down.

He may have had some kind of martial arts training but it does not translate to knives. I can gut a person or remove a limb with the same single smooth motion that I use to unsheathe my knife. That same motion puts the blade between me and them as a defensive position or I can change momentum and quickly strike out with the tip stabbing through the chest or neck.

If you can't disable or disarm your target with your first motion you're doing it wrong. You do not want a long battle with your opponent. Strike for major arteries and organs. In fact a rapid drop in blood pressure can cause near instant fainting. So it is possible to drop a target with a single good strike. Without immediate medical attention they will die in minutes.

And that's the difference, if I have to pull a weapon I aim to kill.
