is it because they don't vote that the system is screwed up or because the system is screwed up that they don't vote? or maybe theres another factor thats causing both?

Pregant pigs were on the ballot this morning.

I felt like doing something stupid and ripping up my registration card and never doing it again, but I decided to something less stupid (arguably) so I changed my party affiliation to GOP.

I'm 18 BTW.

<- part of the 83%

I don't think anyone should be able to vote unless they know who they're voting for and what that person stands for. They should have tests given to people before letting them vote.

After reading most of the posts by those here expressing their political views I think it's a good thing that only 17% of the 18-24 age bracket vote.

Good plan, but guess which side of the isle would be squawking about that?!

im about to go vote. :) I found a neat little website our county puts up where you enter in your name and social and it spits out a list of the candidates you are supposed to vote for, along with their websites so you can look at their views. Too easy! :D

I have a feeling there's a hidden agenda behind that. I wouldn't be surprised if it spits out the same names each time, regardless of what you enter.

I don't vote and I think I have a right to complain....the only reason I don't vote is because I think they're all idiots only out for a buck and could care less about the public.

They might be but I bet you didn't even bother to research their positions, backgrounds and voting records (if they were incumbents) to find out if that was the case or not. Sometimes apathy is realy an excuse for laziness.

Never have voted. Probably never will....unless we start voting for lobbyists. The only people in Washington with any real power.

You may be kind of right. I'm sure there are "some" good politicians worth voting for, however in politics the majority rules. And the majority are idiots.

Why should people vote. All the important voting has already been done. Money made sure there there was nothing to vote for but what is in its interests. The airways are full of purchased lies. The news media tells you who is winning but nothing about what the candidates stand for or what the issues are. And why vote if you live in Florida. It won't be counted. Let the Supreme Coup select the winners and save everybody a lot of wasted time and effort.

Your opinions and attitude towards any issue are so rigid that I don't even have to read your opinion on anything regarding politics to know how you feel. It's like you have a roadblock just on the inside of both ears and if its anything that has to do with spending money it's not allowed in for further consideration and labeled as Liberal(even if it isn't). I bet you are a living descendant of Uriah Heap!
