Only 1.18% of Steam users use a resolution above 1920x1200! 660ti is overkill!

Films can run at 24fps and still look fine because of their intrinsic motion blur during filming.

Different games have different "feels." Some games need close to 60fps to feel smooth, whereas others can get pretty far down there and still have some (or even most) people consider them smooth. E.g., Crysis with Motion Blur.

Not only that but look up how much edge blurring AA is applied to modern movies. Soft edges. We have sharp fast moving games.

not many people willing to take the risk doing that, even among tec nerds

Oh? How come the thread on OCN has 871 pages of info and user reports?

That's just the people who are commenting, many more are finding out about these and buying them without announcing it on forums.

I run crossfire at 5760x1080. When my IPS monitor died (a second time, about a year out of warranty), I opted to buy 3 cheap 21.5 inch TN panels rather than a new IPS panel. It was cheaper. I also bought 2 video cards rather than one. Some games don't do so well with crossfire, but, those that do look wonderful.

How much do you miss IPS? It has better color/contrast etc. so should look much better for that, but do you miss it much? I'm still using TN monitors, but very tempted to add an IPS catleap/shimian/Auria 27".

there's no NEED for anything above a GTX 670 for 98.8% of the gaming community

You are mis-informed, please stop spreading your false assumptions..
1) People who use 3D will likely want more than 1x 670 if they are sensitive to frame rates below 60
2) I have 2x 580's (more power than 1 670), and there are numerous games which will max them out (metro 2033 is one).
3) People who use large displays (I use a 100 inch projection screen) will likely prefer to use SSAA to keep aliasing under control - this *easily* will max out 2x 580's in many games.
4) Could go on..

You likely fall into that 1.2% with your 100" projection screen.
