looks like a Jean Claude Van Dam movie with less story and worse acting (if that's possible)

Fu*k U... have u even seen them... If u have,, u can't possible even concieve of comparing in such irrelevant manner
Why are you taking this so personally?

Because he is full of teenage angst and still has the childish notion that he is special?

I do not deny that i feel that I am special, though i'm NOT whimsical,, BUT I've been watching ALOT of movies ever since I got broad band "when comcast first introduced it"
Having seen so many for all these years ,, I've noticed movies have started to SLOW down in general, and in all genres. The biggest indication was the huge pump of teeny movies,, which used the same jokes over and over again.
This has not just been American movies, but every country. "Japan not included in disccussion due to the fact they made an anime about making an anime/hentai, so that clearly shows they've done everything," Like i was saying,, The reason for my support of the 2 THAI films is that i truely think they are by far more unique than all the movies i've seen in the paste 2 years. "minus shaolin soccer, transporter 1/2, initial D 4thstage"

And the movies are not Shallow, they said alot in a short time. i mention again the scene when he leaves the villagers and the dead elephant bones.. ToT..
The way that thai land is organized is also very intresting compared to the United States. They have alot more violence without the use of guns, or so it seems. And gangstas are cool no matter where. except trannie gangsters cuz then they spend more time being girls than actually expanding their empire.

Would anyone else Hit up Pumwaree Yodkamol from Ong Bak. I think she was super cute minus the annoying voice!!

sorry, beyond some circus stunts ong bak has absolutely nothing. i couldn't have cared less.

I'm sure an acrobat in the circus can do those moves with practice, but that is not to belittle it in the least.

And it clearly shows you put no thought into your comment. Old boy is not a real movie, not a funny spin on the the name. Unless you're actually like Older boys as partners, it doesn't mean anything.

Please watch the movie and if u've turned it off because it was slightly hard to understand the BAD english,, give it another try with subtitles, which can be downloaded everywhere.

If you like the movie please go buy it,, I've personally just ordered the HongKong version DVD. SUPPORT "flash gang sign"

you have no clue what oldboy is about do you? *sigh*

i watch foreign films all the time, and did you realize that the plot for both ong bak and tom yum goong were the same exact plot but in different places? i much rather see clips of the fighting than have to sit through that atrocity you call a movie.

movie is one of the worst martial arts movies i've ever seen, flying knees and elbows have their practicle uses in real life but half the the action scenes look comical at best. what the hell was up with the mario bros sequence??? lemme guess, you must be Thai, because frankly, your taking everybodies opinions waaaaaaay, and let me emphasis, waaaaaaay to serious.

Ong Bak was a good movie.... if you skip all the speaking/acting parts. the action is amazing.

but i agree, the story isn't the strongest part of it; it's just watching the jaw-dropping stunts this dude does.

I think just a compilation of Tony Jaa doing crazy stunts/fights would sell better than anything else.

didn't see tom yum goong, though.

The movie is fun for awhile but afterawhile it's just him jumping around like it's a gymnastics routine. Movies like Hero have a much more artistic feel and the martial arts in there really adds to the story rather than it being the central point.

yeah I know what you mean, but IMO, Hero wasn't meant to be a no-brainer action romp. It was more artistic, like you said. And it worked well.

Ong Bak was meant to be a bleary-eyed, amazing physical experience, which I think it succeeded in doing.

Ok,, I'm not a fanboy,, I'm not Thai,, I like movies from all over..

I'm taking the comments seriously because as OP that's my job,, second is because I really REALLY like these 2 movies and believe the world would be a more "interesting (not better)" place had we have this kinda thing go on all the time. YES i've always wondered what endangered animals tasted like, don't tell PAM..

Unlike you, I don't particularly care if somebody doesn't have the same taste in movies that I do.

You sound like you're getting ready to pop a blood vessel.

Blood vessel no,, but Its not like i'm trying to hurt you or belligerently decry Ur beliefs and ur tastes. ALL i've said up till now was in hopes of convincing you guys to go see this movie, and those who have' "SOMEWHAT seen it " to give it either another chance or just a little more attention.

Tom Yum Goong was one of the most fun action movies I watched with my friends. The fight scenes were amazing so I ignored the acting and plot.

For those who have seen it, was that Jackie Chan in a cameo at the airport when he bumped into Tony Jaa?

Ong Bak is an awesome movie... the way martial arts movies should be.
Hollywood has a long way to go.

Not in terms of acting or story, no.

Sure the action is good on Ong Bak, but I had to stop watching the film because it was so horrible otherwise.

I was wondering about that too,, like they just threw that in from the bloopers... LIKELY,, although jackie chan has better posture..
