I have used 2 my entire life and never even knew most people used 1.
for example: CPA learned only in this thread that VB is forcing single space, yet claims that he can't read sentences that are single-spaced. it seems to affect his ability to read and comprehend information so drastically that he flies into raging shit storms of furious anger.
yet, as long as he has been posting on these Vb forums and reading other posts, he has been reading all sentences single spaced, as has everyone else. One may be typing sentences as 2 spaced, but what you only ever see is single space.
So, I ask you rabid 2 spacers--has reading the single spacing in VB for the past 3 years thoroughly confused you? Are you able to comprehend anything that anyone has posted? I bet nearly all of you didn't even realize how easily you were flowing through single-spaced sentences.
Interesting Placebo that you have fallen victim to, single-spacers.
wait, why is it suddenly a bug, instead of something that reflects proper convention?
I mean, if forcing one space is truly problematic for posting certain data and information (as some have suggested), then I get that.
but I wonder if some of you think it's a "bug" simply because you incorrectly think that 2 spaces is proper?
:hmm:
I used to be a firm supporter of two, but I've recently switched to one, simply because there's no reason for two. The reason behind two spaces has already been stated in this thread multiple times. On a computer, one space is fine. For some reason, I was always taught two (perhaps by elderly English teachers?) But it's definitely wrong. And, an extremely hard habit to break.
But it's good that you're eliminating candidates based on something as trivial as spaces after a period -- which you are 100% in the wrong about.

CPA must be quite the fogey given the shit fit he threw in this thread.

Two spaces. I couldn't care less what people think is 'proper'. I've never seen a business-level email use one space after a period. It would make the writer look like an idiot.
