While we're on it, I think micro-justification looks like shit, and is harder to read. I prefer ragged right margin, torn page edges, and two spaces after each sentence. And when you look at NICE first edition hardcover books, that is how they are printed.

I used to be a firm supporter of two, but I've recently switched to one, simply because there's no reason for two. The reason behind two spaces has already been stated in this thread multiple times. On a computer, one space is fine. For some reason, I was always taught two (perhaps by elderly English teachers?) But it's definitely wrong. And, an extremely hard habit to break.

But it's good that you're eliminating candidates based on something as trivial as spaces after a period -- which you are 100% in the wrong about.

when i learned keyboarding in HS like 10 years ago, I was taught 2 spaces. I don't see a point to use 2 spaces long time ago. 1 space is the norm.

Typing rules, which is where I learned this, say one space after a comma or semi-colon, two spaces after a period or colon.

This probably goes back to type spacing on printing presses. It gives a greater space between completed sentences, and gives the eyes an easier reference, so the sentences don't appear to run on.
